BRISTOL CITY TRANSFER LATEST: Yann Kermogant still available as Reading deal stalls. a_stockhausen please log in to view this image Yann YANN Kermogant remains an attainable goal for Bristol City should they still wish to bring him to Ashton Gate. A target for the Robins last summer, the 34-year-old Frenchman admits he has probably played his last game for Premier League newcomers AFC Bournemouth. Reading are leading the race to sign the former Rennes and Charlton forward, but the Royals have yet to agree a fee with the Cherries. City are among a number of rival Championship clubs monitoring Kermogant's situation and interim manager John Pemberton told the press at the weekend that the club are still hopeful of strengthening their squad before the end of the window. In an interview with the Bournemouth Echo, Kermogant said: "I want to play. I still have a few years left in my legs and I don't just want to train and watch my team-mates play. "It's a tough decision for me and my family, but I will take the best one for us." Would Yann Kermogant be a good signing for Bristol City Yet to start a league game for the Cherries this season, Kermogant made a rare appearance in Bournemouth's FA Cup third round win at Birmingham earlier this month. He added: "You never know, it might have been my last game. I can't say." http://www.bristolpost.co.uk/BRISTOL-CITY-TRANSFER-LATEST-Yann-Kermogant/story-28547928-detail/story.html
From what I'm hearing/understanding the new Manager will not have full control over everything including potential signings. Could this have been a reason why SC went when he knew what Mark Ashton's role was going to be ? Personally I'm not very comfortable with this multi-person approach. It only wants the new manager and Mark Ashton not to get on or see eye to eye and there will be even more crises.
Fully agree, I'm sure there was disagreement over signings between Cotts, burt and the board, don't think NP would agree to join us on those terms
there is still a lot wrong with CITY... problem being there is no communication .. a problem between every department within the City's infrastructure .... we need a "charter" which states between each of below there is to be communication ... boot boys job is sort the boots, ( but ) help with kit and vice versa etc etc down the list kit boys job is sort the kit GOALIE job is to stop ball going in net defence stop ball from being kicked toward goalie etc etc etc mid field... attack ...... Manager aaargh does he :- Pick team Coach players select ins and outs have a wage budget have no say on ..... ins and outs .. wage budget then of course assistants to Manager, job is to offer advice and assist in .... Coach job is to train and improve players and assistants job is to do similar to above Then every department including tea lady up to The owner ..... Between tea lady and owner is where the problems lie?????
If the comments about what role our new potential manager would have are anywhere near true then most, if not all, decent candidates will give us a wider berth than normal. What is wrong with our lot even contemplating making those kind of decisions or is it someone trying to dilute the contents by keeping control in spying distance of his office? Will sanity or a single ounce of footballing common sense ever waft down the halls of Ashton Gate?
That dopey programme with Hugh Bonneville about the BBC where they talked a fine talk but never walked the walk. It was all about corporate strategies and discussion groups coming up with things like 5 pillars mindset, somewhat like us? It was awful - like us. On a side note our new, whatever he is from Oxford, was apparently the leading light behind our transfers policy in 2014 which is good to know because I wasn't aware we had one, and if we are now expecting to rise from the ashes based on that kind of corporate mumbo-jumbo then heaven help us.
I think this is a deal that could've been good as a short-term measure, but I'm not particularly disappointed we've missed out either.
