It looks like we are interested in signing him on a bosman free transfer. In my opinion I think that Murray is over rated and is a player who likes to go down easily. Fair enough he has scored 22 goals this season but im sure most of them were penalties (dont know the exact amount from the spot).
I will say however that for a free transfer it might not be a bad signing, but I think that if we are going to push on to the next level we need to be signing better players than Murray, so I would be some what dissapointed with this transfer.
If we do sign him though I will give him as much support as I would any player who pulls on the red and white stripes, but I dont think all fans will do the same, like what happened when we signed Forte.

    Thoughts appreciated

He's signed for CPFC apparently. I don't rate him. He's a poor man's Lambert with a more diminuiative stature.

Good news that we didn't get him IMO. Not the sort of striker we should be after.

I read in the newspaper yesterday (the Metro I think) that he's signed for Palace.

Yeh but would he want to be? I'm sure his ego has been duly inflated by his prominent role in Brighton's promotion. There's no way he'd come here to sit on the bench, which is why I wouldn't want him; he simply isn't good enough to displace either Lambert,Barnard or Guly.

At Brighton he was a star........down here he wouldn't be anything other than one of many.........If he has gone to palace he will not be too popular with the Brighton fans. Despite what he has done for them. It would be like us selling Lambert to Pompey!!!!!
Still I suppose Brighton couldn't offer him the money. Palace getting for free means they can offer him a lot more.......Thats what the bosman transfer was designed for...........

JDub completely agree I think that Lambert, Barnard, Guly and not to forget Connolly are all better players and we need someone who is better than what we have got to help us push on for promotion. This is not to say I am expecting promotion 1st time around, I believe we need at least a year to in the championship before we can expect to go up.

Agree with the above in that the player coming in has to be better/or as good as we have and also a player with PACE is essential to compliment what we already have .Sounds like makail smith to me ?? COYR

TBF, he did score 22 goals last season, and a lot of Lamberts goals came from pens too. Plus Brighton's fans seem to think he was a pretty crucial player for them. Don't think he would be a bad addition. Also think Mackail-Smith is never going to happen. Norwich is far more likely to be his destination.

Less likely now they have gone up ,it would suit him to go championship first ,then prem with us ! Let's wait and see , but I have a feeling he is coming south !

Just can't see it personally. He would be immense, but very costly in terms of both transfer fee and wages most likely. Plus if Norwich wanted him in Janurary, not sure why they wouldn't now. If he would have improved the squad then, then surely he would still do so. Perhaps they are looking higher, but I wouldn't write off their interest just yet.
