The job is graeme jones dragon if he wants it, we don't want any big names that are journeymen that are in it for the money they can get. we want someone who is hungry for success and should monk do well then he could be another Martinez who knows.....these big names in there playing days very rarely make stable reliable good managers.....its the nobodies that are there for the right reasons and are hungry for success..
you have not followed his career then sterio...He is a winner and thats why he is wanted at top clubs....dont you agree. wigan are a small club and he did very well as far as i can recall but he had no money to work with and no money means certain relegation at the end of the day even if sir alex was their manager....he is highly thought of and a top manager...just look at everton to see what he can do with money..
We are a small club. Laudrup never had us in the relegation zone. Re: Everton By your own logic Moyes is responsible for this team. Martinez is still just getting to know the players. Personally I think the Martinez era only truly started when they got tanked 4-0 in the merseyside derby. Will be interesting to see how they do with the loanee Lukaku out (someone Laudrup tried to sign)...perhaps he could play his £5m signing of last summer, the 30+ Arouna Kone....another of Martinez's "winners". Seriously, he's done well to change their style without the results going pear shaped. It remains to be seen whether he was the right appointment for Everton however, we'll have an indication at the end of next season.
Graeme jones is the ideal manager and if monk has to oversee till the end of the season and we do well then why pay millions for anyone else as he should get the job...
Dai, I understand what you are saying about Wigan being a small club etc, but don't you think that as Laudrup did well at the start - some say it's thanks to Rogers team, Martinez has inherited Moyes team, and whereas we got lucky with Michu, so has Martinez in landing Lukaku ? There are parralells. Now that Lukaku is injured and Everton have been given the biggest hammering in their derby match for a very long time, we will see how Martinez can cope.
We are a small club. Laudrup never had us in the relegation zone. Ermmm 8 wins in a season and a half is certain relegation .....why the hell do you think he was sacked...because he was doing well i suppose...He had to go..
In his time here we were never in the relegation places. At the time of his sacking we are 12th. 8 worse teams than us so far this season....with easier fixtures this half of the season and some star players returning from injury. Don't dispute any of this. They are facts. Martinez habitually had Wigan cut off from the pack in the relegation zone and engineered last gasp escapes. They spent similar money to us. These are the facts. Let's not have any excuses from you and the rest if we get relegated. The board need to take responsibility for this decision. If Monk can win a trophy and get us to finish mid table I will praise him, the board and might even apologise to the likes of you
The point is that martinez have turned everton into a better team than moyes had if you listen to their fans, they are over the moon with martinez even though most of those same fans were dubious about his appointment and did not want him... It was the reverse with us, We were beaming with excitement about laudrups appointment but even the most knowledgeable fan would say that he has not lived up to expectations and as you hear on every forum that he has taken us backwards....we had no choice he had to go...
Relegation form but not relegation zone! (Two very important points you need to distinguish between) Dai stop basking this is a difficult time for most fans and your comments are not helping matters. I hope to **** that monk can lead the team to victory Saturday! Otherwise the board will come under serious scrutiny!!
Improved? We'll find out at the end of the season. Right now they are exactly where they were under Moyes. Battling to get into the Campions League spots. Moyes managed it once. Oh, and of course we had a choice.
you will never convince anyone who understands football terror however much you try to say laudrup was a good manager He has been sacked, what more proof do you want. he has gone never to return...finished ,kaput, , and why has that happened do you think...? go on you can do it take an educated guess.......was it because he was doing well and taking us forward...or as most of us can see that he has taken us backwards heading for relegation.. do me a favour and get back on this planet
