Off Topic Glazers acknowledge fans at cost of £20 million per year

From the Telegraph :-Manchester United's owners will reject the idea of selling the naming rights to Old Trafford. The Glazer family will forego a potential income of £20m a year, acknowledging that changing the stadium's name is off-limits for United fans.

Sad fact is 20m is a drop in the ocean to that club.

 

It's all relative, it's worth more to them than the £0 Hull Tigers would have brought in for us.

 

Yes although the Glazers could pocket the entire £20 million for themselves, but they won't. Decent people it turns out.

£1 million or 2 is what Ehab said changing to Hull Tigers was worth. For a PL Hull City with the new TV deal coming that's a drop in the ocean.

Also Ehab did say that changing the name is off the agenda if we go down because nobody in the Far East will give a **** about us in the Championship whatever we're called. I hope he sticks to that.

 

Don't think many in the Far East give a **** about us in EPL either, whatever we're called.

Well that's lifted my sombre mood from yesterday.

Someone described the Glaziers as decent people.

Compared to your hero Assam Allam they are. What he'd do to Manchester United I don't know but we do know if he was at Man City he'd try to change their name to Manchester Hunter.

 

Erm erm you've got a big nose and erm erm dont give as much to charity as i do. Not that I'd tell you as i dont want anyone to know how much i give. But its a ****ing lot. More than you ****ing easy.

 

Er I haven't said anything about the levels of charitable giving of the Allams and the Glazers.

 

Assam Allam also said, "Premiership is Global", and that is why he wants to change the name. "Championship is Local", so not necessary to change the name. Or words to that effect.

 

He's also admitted, and was minuted as doing so, that this is simply a feud with the council and nothing more. It's not necessary or even beneficial to change the name at any level.

 

Are the exact words out there on the net somewhere?
