Ok-forgive if this is blindingly obvious but I am struggling to feel positive about my beloved QPR in the next couple of years. Never mind the grim football at present... Option One We by some miracle sneak 2nd place (or win the playoffs which needs more than a miracle I reckon). We are promoted-cue yet more wholesale changes, possibly with Harry at the helm, just possibly with a brighter (in every sense) prospect there. I am still fearful that we would pledge more millions and still get slaughtered. TF surely can't stomach all that again so he walks.... Option Two The Financial Fair Play invented specifically for us(so it now appears) kicks in-c£50m fine, which triggers a spending freeze from the Board and HONESTLY with the players that we will be left we will do another Wolves. Neither is palatable, either is distinctly possible, all of which sends me up to the attic to dig out my 70s/80s programmes and stare wistfully at them..... Someone convince me otherwise please!!
Cheer up. Only eleven games plus maybe the playoffs to go before next season's 46 games of Saturday-Tuesday-Saturday with the possibility of glamour trips to 'plucky' Brentford and a day out in Wolverhampton.
In a perverse way that is preferable to tonkings by Liverpool, City, That lot down the road, Arsenal....mind guaranteed win at OT if Moyes is still in charge..... If we do go up it i can see it as another season of pain and ultimate relegation..... I reckon that FFP will be challenged in the Courts and found to be unworkable in its current format as it penalises clubs for trying to be successful in the PL who just happen to be relegated but still have all the associated costs of PL football....
Oh yeah, other things being equal I much prefer anything to Prem football but I understand some people can't get that point of view. All I really want, at any level, is a likeable team on wages within the club's budget giving it 100% every week. John Curtis over Jose Bosingwa for me.
I think you are right Rolling the whole glamour thing is related to the Premier League as that is the place to be seen.....egos eh?
When we went down he announced that the club had learned its lesson and in fairness other than the signings of Benayoun, Kranjcar, Ekotto, Henry, Maiga and probably half a dozen others it seems we have. Glass half full.
It now appears that I have questioned TF's whole motivation ! Sorry! But if he is leading us down an ultimately impractical road, then how long will his generosity (or funds) last?
That's the fear for many clubs. Absolutely nothing anyone can do about it- that's just modern football.
I have a feeling that when the club have a plan they will let us know. Until then we're like a drunk in vegas casino. Still 3rd is far better than the relegation I predicted so all we can do is wait.
I've sold out and I dont care.... I want my (OUR) club in the Premiership. i want to watch them playing Citeh, Utd, Arsenal and the likes not bloody Yeovil, Brentford & Millwall. i want to see us compete against the best England has to offer & for all those loses, the wins against teams like Chelsea, Arsenal etc make up for it. I dont like NPC footy, its crap... I understand we may not get there this season, but get there we must IMO Dont really care about the cost (probably because it doesnt affect me as much) but if a rich man wants to waste his cash on us then let him! There I've said it.
Funny you should say that. Harold never ceases to tell us that he has shipped 18 players out but seems conveniently to forget that he's replaced them with 18 others - most of whom have an equally poor attitude.
The boy Morrisson looks very good. I just hope we don't build him up into a God-like figure like we did the last chap who's name shall not be mentioned. Lets all promise just to give credit where its due and not in anticipation of anything he's not done yet. And when he plays bad lets acknowledge that and not blindly continue to blow bubbles up his arse regardless. If we all do that then I think we can avoid all the tumult and division that surrounded the other guy.
If like me your a realist then you have half a glass, not full or empty. Definition of a realist: an optimistic pessimist or is it a pessimistic optimist? I will just shut up and get my coat!
On today of all days (Paddy's Day) if you have a half empty glass someone normally fills it up for you!!!!!!
