Well, is this the beginning of the football implosion? Rangers have filed for administration under the threat of a massive tax bill that they have to pay, believed to be around £49m. The HMRC seem to be more and more active chasing down their tax dollars, and quite rightly football clubs are being looked at. This is quite incredible though to see a club the size of Rangers on the brink like this.
Good point Cosmic, as it is Celtic and Rangers are struggling to compete in the transfer market, they can't even challenge Championship clubs when it comes to wages. The biggest problem facing Scottish football is all the Sky money in the English Prem. Make no mistake, the ridiculous amounts of money being pumped into the Prem is starting to kill football in England as well, with the League clubs simply out of the picture completely. Maybe a club like Rangers folding is the wake up call everyone needs. It is an open secret that so many clubs in England are living on the edge because of the silly wages being paid, and its about time ALL clubs in debt go into administration and a wag cap is set against a club's turnover. Something needs to be done.
No sympathy here. If they paid there bloody taxes like the rest of us, they wouldn't be in the mess they're in
Brilliant news, hopefully there'll be a few more 'big' clubs go into admin, then hopefully football will start living in the real world again. No one had sympathy for us.
There should be a wage cap and transfer fee cap. Hopefully these new rules coming in soon make a difference. When you think that the two clubs in the Champions League final last season have nearly a billion pounds worth of debt between them, Chelsea and Man City are funded by foreign billionaires, Everton are struggling to pay their debt, Pompey, Sheffield Wednesday and teams like Darlington have been in administration. Not to mention that one massive club that has gone from Champions League semi finals to League One in less than 10 years. The money problems in football are worrying.

No chance there. Celtic have been properly run for many years under Desmond and his board. Currently have no debt so no comparison between the two clubs. Rangers have lived way beyond their means since the days of Gascoigne playing with them. They'll now walk away from years of debt accrued by not paying their taxes. Some systems in place in football
celtic are in debt...they've just reduced there debt by 2 milllion so now only 7 million in debt...a meagre debt compared to that or rangers tho
Id say why don't they sell their best players? O wait they are all ****, League one standard at best, scrap the scottish leagues and take BOAB with them
Right there nobbo,i think just now we are all pissed off with what`s happening at Leeds,it will come good again when that **** Bates dies perchance?
