Its now confirmed by HMRC, they have decided to liquidate rangers...no deals are acceptable ..the rangers "company" owes 134 million, incredible. ...this will allow the taxman to bring to book all those chancers and so called "businessmen" who have brought a once great club to its knees.. lets hope so..

They havent gone yet. HMRC has rejected everything Rangers have proposed and they said liquidating the company is the best option now for the creditors and them. It doesnt look good for Rangers

Unless someone with a lot of cash pops up really soon then i think it will be the end of Rangers

But when they was rejecting our bid of 6.5M for Nikica Jelavic and then another 9M bid from a unknown club you cant have alot of sympathy.

I feel sorry for their fans but maybe now clubs will learn the lesson

We should have a look at some of their players. Steven Davies is a good player and I wouldnt mind him, Lee Wallace is also a decent player

They will simply set up as a 'new company' probably formed by the guy wanting to buy them anyway - he will pay for what assests they have - HMRC are a 'preferred' or secure creditor so will probably end up with more of the cash generated by the assets sale than they would have done under a CVA (which was being proposed). It is not in HMRC's interests for Rangers to go fully under - future income tax and corporation tax streams dictate that.

Yes this will really make the SPL a fantastic league to watch next season... NOT.

Oh well atleast some other team will finish 2nd in the SPL other than Rangers & Celtic for the 1st time in about 25 years.

Correct me if I´m wrong here but only Celtic & Rangers have won the SPL since SAF did it with Aberdeen in 1984/85 season ?

I hope the newco isn't allowed straight back into the SPL but I fear they will be.

Also didn't Leeds Utd form a new club or did this not happen in the end?

In the last 25 seasons Aberdeen have finished 2nd five times, Hearts three times and Motherwell once but yeah, none of them have won it.

With an expanded league and no newco (Rangers can never come back) then Celtic may not have the easy ride they are expecting.
