You beat me to this! Based on what Clarke has said about this deal, it will be just to cover Preston who is away with Scotland Under 19's. Another former player of Clarke coming to his rescue! Here is what Clarke said: “Will Puddy is a goalkeeper I know very well, I managed him for a couple of years at Salisbury, and with Keiran Preston away with the Scotland U19s, it is an opportunity for Will to come in for a week. He is looking for a club and I am very pleased he is coming in for a week or two to help me out.” Clarkes contacts seems very minimal.

I used to go and watch Mangotsfield occasionally and saw him once. He looked unconvincing as far as I can remember - although to be fair he was young and it was a long time ago. Last season I saw make a mistake for Salisbury in a game on BT Sport. That must have been one of only errors though as he was voted players player of the season. I could have been completely wrong - but I won't just write him off. I've got faith in DC and I think he must rate him fairly highly to bring him to Rovers.
This now makes me question both DC and his credentials. This was a situation that couldn't be help and is bloody bad luck but there must be someone better out there that we can loan or do short term. However I would like to wish Steve Mildenhall's mother a speedy recovery and my thoughts and prayers are with him and his family.
Its gone tits up since Lennie Lawrence as far as decent contacts in the proper football world is concerned. Rovers are full of aspiration to remain in this league and nothing beyond judging by the difficulty in attracting quality. Very depressing stuff.
It's only two games and I reckon Barnet are probably THE team because of their manager. Things will feel a whole lot better after the next couple of games...I hope so anyway...
Unfortunately DC doesn't seem to have any contacts beyond those at Salisbury and I've not been own away by these after 180 mins of football.
