Simples - post something to add your self to the thread and rep everyone around you, and obviously hope they return the favour! BTW to give someone rep click on the little star near to the bottom left of an individual's post. Add a message to make it personal, click on the control panel top-right to see how often you have been repped.
Despite handing out rep to plenty of strangers from foreign lands (i.e. the Arsenal, Wycombe, Brizzle, Southampton and Norwich boards) I still need to share mine around more apparently
