I've been writing on one of City's Swedish fan pages for the last decade (which feels insane thinking about it), but really haven't had any motivation to do it the last few years. My articles started dropping quickly.. Now it's basically died out. People will read if I write tho (3000 people read about when Slutsky got appointed) I wanna get back on it tho. I'm going into my final year of Uni (studying journalism & media production) and I wanna keep my writing up. Sure, I can write a preview for the game tomorrow against Blackburn, but it'd be fun to do something more interesting involving City. I don't get any money out of it, just enjoy doing it. Anyone got some ideas on what I could write about? Anyone wanna give their 2 pennies worth of thoughts about City?
Been running this through my mind for a while, but how about a topical fiction piece on City? Perhaps City could be the first British club to appoint a woman as manager? The story could feature about her tribulations in a man’s world on and off the field, in which she does rather well and shows the chauvinists a thing or two. It’s up to you of course, but I reckon she’s hot and maybe you could show a flash of her tits about half way through? In the end, she'd get us promoted though. Title? Maybe summat like She-Boss, or (S)he-man(ager), or even summat like Manageress could work? I really don’t mind if you want to use it.
You're not the only one who's dried up Febbos. There is a dearth of 'long read' articles on City, I think Amber Nectar has managed 2 this year, the HDM is abysmal, Lambo's lad promised much with the halftime report but that's disappeared, the other fanzines sank years ago, nowt to read but twaddle on here and facebook its a shame.
Loved the Big Mal quote from sometime in the 90s, roughly saying that 'no-one had kicked a ball properly for 20 odd years'
Try this for your next installment. Get an interview with Seb Larsson and ask him pertinent questions about everything Hull City from his perspective - owners, managers, players, attitude to the game, the level of professionalism (or lack of), what he feels would make City a better club. What did he think of Hull, what are the major differences he sees between here and Swedish football from technical aspects to management to players attitudes/skills.
