Both Bergkamp and Henry scored their 1st Arsenal goals against Southampton and Wright got his 1st league goal against Southampton. Is it destiny that Giroud will break his duck against them too?
Giroud anytime and Southampton win then In my dreams, how are you expecting the game to pan out friends?
Watching your first three games, I can't see your defence shutting up shop and trying to kill the game. Think it will be an open game and I feel that our attacking players can get at your defence. I see a comfortable 2-0 win.
I expect Arsenal to give Saints a good thumping and run out easy winners! About 3-0 to the Gunners should do!
Thats unusual of you to think that Either way thanks for posting because you usually jinx things! Im pretty confident we will make chances and do think we'll get on the score sheet it's just the defence which isn't Prem quality.
Our own defence is much improved... take that into your estimations. We will concede eventually though. I'm going for a 2-1 win, with the Saints grabbing a late consolation.
Did any of you watch the game against Utd? Saints outplayed them for 60 mins. I think it will be a tough game - they may well be the first team to score against us. Also Giroud had a shocker for France (was boo'd off) so im not sure how he will do. I'm backing Podolski to score again though.
Neither them or Man City were great tbh... Man U really only kicked into gear in the last ten minutes as did City, in the second half. Having said this, I think it will be a hard game against the Saints. I still think we will win though.
I've got Podolski and Cazorla down as my scorers in a two nil win. But I'd gladly swap one of them for Giroud to bag his first
Latest quote from the man himself: “I need time to adapt to life in the Premier League. At Arsenal I’ve been freezing up just when I’ve been about to pull the trigger, and that happened in my first few matches for France. “I’m not too worried because I’ve been scoring in training and I am comfortable being a part of the team.’’ Get behind him on Saturday guys, he'll come good in time
Going to be a long season if he does turn out to be Chamakh, just hope the crowd dont get on his case if he misses another sitter
Chamakh actually hit the ground running and was very good when he first joined us and then as soon as Van Persie returned, Chamakh was never the same player. Hopefully, Giroud does the opposite.
I think a lot of people overreact about Giroud. He's an out and out poacher and can disappear for large portions of the game but will make a fantastic run at the right moment to be set through as has happened in the past 3 games. It's as he said a case of getting his head together and putting it in the back of the net, but the more opportunities he makes for himself with good positioning, the more chance he'll score a goal, which is why I'm confident he'll come good as he's already linked up pretty well with people around him to create a few chances for himself.
