Can't see it personally, very much a left footed right winger, and would we really drop dyer? I don't think so.

Actually Giovani dos Santos, can play in a number of positions, including second striker position, as well as attacking midfielder, so quite a useful player, and if anyone watched the Wales game last night, he was one of Mexico's best players, he looks to be at a loose end at Spurs, so you never know, though Bolton are after him, and have reportedly put in a 4 Million bid!.................... <cheers>

I have to be honest I was just going on clips I have seen of him, the majority of which showed him cutting in from the right wing.

Surely now the second striker position is Gylfi's for the foreseeable future, but if GDS is more versatile then I wouldn't mind seeing him on the left wing, providing crosses for Graham and cutting balls back for the Gylf!

Still don't see it happening though

The guy used to have potential but I don't think his game suits the Premier League.

De Negris currently plays for Mexican side Monterray. He's 28 and has scored 23 goals in 62 appearances.

May have looked dangerous, but is he prolific enough in front of goal?

I just loved the way he chested the ball for the second goal. No rush to head it;too high to use his feet, just a classy finish.

One goal every three games is about D.G.level,I suppose,so Dai wouldn't like him. So that's that, then. Knocked on the head. <whistle>

Dos Santos isn't the first Giovanni to be linked with The Swans'. The other occasion was quite some time ago,and came about like this.

Being a Morriston boy, with a love of football, there were two teams featuring large in my life, viz,Swansea Town, and Morriston Town, who were then playing in The Welsh League,First Division. Ah those were the days.

Anyway,at the time, The Swans' were going through a difficult period, mainly through their inability to score. You see,it was ever thus. :emoticon-0106-cryin

Morriston Town, however, had no such problem. They had an Italian goal machine, name of Giovanni, who scored goals whilst sleeping. He soon became the highest scorer in the Clubs' history, and a legend on Woodfield Street. His exploits were discussed, and drooled over in the Snooker Hall near the church in the middle of the road.

Keen eyed Swans' fans read about Giovanni's exploits via The Sporting Post, prompting many questions. The editorial team joined in the chorus.

    "Who is this guy Giovanni?"

"How come he plays for Morriston?"

"Is not our need greater than theirs?"

    So it went on.

Eventually, to avoid riots at The Vetch,The Swans' Management decided to take a look at the Italian goal machine named Giovanni.

He wasn't too difficult to track down.

The investigations were completed and the results made known.

He worked in the tinplate industry in Morriston. He wasn't Italian. His name wasn't Giovanni. It was......

    ... Joe Varney. <doh>

    I kid you not.

    True story,it actually happened.

Good old Joe provided much comic relief around the snooker tables of Morriston. He became a legend. I've never forgotten him.

    Oh,and The Swans',well they kept on missing sitters. Well,they would,wouldn't they? <whistle>

The point is that Joe Varney if pronounced in a thick Swansea accent may sound like Giovanni Musty.
