So just how good is he?

We bought for £15m. I'd say he is worth £25m+ already. Dutch player of the year last season and on course for probably 12+ goals this season in a struggling side.

 

2 of the top three in relegation threatened sides. They'll be worth a lot less if we go down!

 

Wijnaldum is top class. Absolute quality.

How many players have we signed from abroad who have taken a season to get used to the pace of the Premier League? Wijnaldum has been good from day 1. Hopefully we get another season from him before he is inevitably signed by a club who can triple his wages.

He may not but he's still on 82pts, One place above Martel on equal points on Sky's own list. That's just a fact. Not my fault if both sources involved were selective over results. As a stat man always happy to uncover the truth

 

Perhaps they only included players who were actually signed rather than borrowed?

 

Maybe, It should specify as a loan is a transfer, it simply is. I think it's harsh as our clubs captured two of the best signings in the last window and we don't get much to shout about. That score from a non goalscoring DM in front of a defence who ships goals, under FF scoring is truly truly phenomenal.

Just think he deserve a place over Martel who from what i've seen has flopped so far. Great season from Gini but there was little doubt with most people.

 

And he should do even better now that we can afford to play him in his right position.

 

Bout time, you had turned into us under Bruce and MoN. Playing everybody in the wrong positions.

 

It's all about having the right players at your disposal. The new acquisitions should help make it easier to get the best out of a few more players too.

 

Oh aye, all down to Ashley stalling on recruitment. Now he's investing and Suprise suprise the holes in your squad are disappearing. Not rocket science and I've noticed a lot of you have quite rightly bemoaning the situation. You need more defenders imo. Any links? Seems to be all attacking players I'm seeing.

 

Nothing beyond internet rumours yet.

Don't think we can blame Ashley for this one - he put up money in the summer and money in this window (as he said he would over three windows to repair the team). It's not his job to get the players to sign on the dotted line.

 

Supposedly (according to the gutter press) Ashley has now given permission for us to break our transfer record.
