Need to get this off my chest.....
I am the first to say that I am not his greatest fan & never have been, always thought he was an accident waiting to happen which he's proved in spades in times gone by...
For sure his game has come on leaps and bounds this last 12 months and all credit to him/the staff but today it wasn't good...in my opinion...
He made some good tackles, covered back, etc., but sorry, isn't that what he's supposed to do...?
For me he just doesn't see or read the game which is why he's always scrambling about making last ditch tackles etc.,- makes him look like he's doing good but he shouldn't be getting into that situation in the first place...
It was his Godawful pass to Livermore which caused the Chester issue - there was at least 4 occasions where he came striding out the back making like he was Rio Ferdinand & just passed it to one of theirs...
There was also a couple of times when Odemwingie went past him as it he was stood still...
I accept we need a decent squad especially if we jump next Thursday's hurdle but for people to say he was one of City's best 3 players on the pitch....
We all look for our team to progress and if Dawson comes in I'll sleep better on a night - like Curtis he reads the game and snuffs out problems before they arise.....
OK all you Ginga lovers.....let me have it.......

Are we talking about McShane or Quinn? I thought Quinn had a very good game and McShane was solid apart from a couple of mistakes.

Quinn was my MOTM....whilst I accept he is of the strawberry blonde variation (I'm not going to be accused of being Gingerism..) he must be at least 2 feet shorter than the Ninja (slight exaggeration maybe..) - even at my age and being an East stand dweller my eyesight ain't that bad fella.....!

I think SB thought Quinn was as well....he applauded him off and shook his hand when he got subbed...great praise indeed seeing he didn't even look at Chester when he went off.....

My girlfriend's ginger and she just got a bit snappy with me, so I think gingerism is fair game right now.

I can only assume you are on about someone in the reserves/youth team, because McShane was good today.

Going a little off topic here but Ginger snap (sometimes called Brandy snap) is an acquired taste - hands up those who acquired it as a kid at Hull Fair...if I didn't go home with a bag of snap, a coconut & a goldfish then it just wasn't a good night....

Thought Quinn was MOM today - cracking display

McShane looked solid too - thought he played well to keep Stoke at bay

The crowd were great today - my kids complained that it was too loud in the stadium..... :-D

I fully agree, considering they had to cope with 10 men for 75 minutes, Macca had a very good game.

We're going out, she's taking too long to get ready.

    I mentioned it.

We did indeed have to cope for 75 mins with 10 men - only thing is we went 4- 4- 1 & left Jelly to chase....

Quinn was only immense in the sense that Livermore was absent.

Whatever Macca is or isn't, I feel much more confident with him in our back three, than Bruce Junior.
If the Dawson move goes through, then I suspect Bruce Jnr will move on and Macca will be on standby for injuries and/or cup duty only.

Livermore wasn't absent, he had a very tough job to do off the ball defensively. Sometimes the things that aren't obvious are the most important - if he'd pushed forwards to get on the ball more he might've appeared to be doing more but left dangerous gaps with us being a man down. Quinn did have a great game but he had a little more freedom in his position than Livermore.

McShane I thought was decent. Some good tackles and interceptions, a couple of dodgy moments and the whole back line faffed around when Chester got his red.

agree with you mark KC - it's chalk & cheese for me, if you're comparing Bruce Jnr & Macca (which I think you are) then it's just a case of who's less worse...I'm with you - Dawson should fit in well after a couple of games, Bruce Jnr goes out and/or joins Macca for injuries/stand by duty.
It's EPL/Europa now - can't stand on sentimentalities or nepotism...

Plus on the subject of gingers, i highly recommend reverse gangbang 3.
6 strawberry blondes and 18 holes. A classic.

can I just say Livermore/Thudd were immense today - Stoke came specifically to take us on in midfield & set up to do so (hence no Bojan starting) - we went a man down & it was their job to try to stem the flow which they did....

You can say it. Doesn't mean it's correct. Livermore's only mention in the MOM thread is the back pass he made which led to Chester getting sent off.

With an £8M fee attached to his name, Livermore should be doing more "obvious" stuff worthy of mention.

Livermore was the poor sap that got the dreadful ball from Macca - he had a man 2 yards away pressing, got a bobbling ball infield when he was least expecting it ended up being blamed - horses**t....
Livermore is worth £8m and some - he'll never be an "obvious" player by which I presume you mean putting the telling passes in, etc., - that's not his job...!!
He works as hard as most in what he does which is why SB wanted him in at £8m - he sees his value and at his age he's damn good value - if he stays he'll be an integral part of our team for some years or he'll get picked up by a big club for silly money....
