Hey guys! Im a gills fan travelling by train tomorrow! Never been to your ground before, so looking forward to it! Whats the walk like from the station? Thankyou! Lets hope its not another 7 nil.
Too far to walk, really. You need to catch a bus from the bus station just around the corner. Details:- http://www.shrewsburytown.com/page/TravelPlan/0,,10443~1065705,00.html
hi gillinghamfc, ksd is right in pointing you in the direction of the club travel suggestions. sadly i was embarrassed by the club blurb as it does not seem to cater for away supporters. any way emerge from the station and walk up to the traffic lights and turn right, after a bit the river will be on your right . this is smithfield rd opposite is a big bus station with a well staffed enquiry office. but any bus driver can direct you to the right bus for meole brace. and the local pub is the brooklands. the ground is not a long walk, follow the crowd. the away supporters are housed in the north stand, so wrap up warm as temp of 4o forcast with a cold east/se wind. the facilites at the stadium are great, enjoy the game.
it must have been the thought of those beer swilled flagstones and trodden in parsnip crisps at the railway inn yorton that was drawing me up that way
He'd have walked a long way down there before he saw a river on his right! Have a good journey, GillinghamFC, but perhaps not the game itself so much! We've been goal-shy too long and need to start putting that right or the top 3 will leave us behind. 7-0 would do very nicely, but so would 1-0 or any combination that brings us 3 points.
Our train from birmingham international, gets into shrewsbury at 1.19, this should be plenty of time to walk? its only 2 miles right? Or if something goes wrong, we'll just catch a taxi! Thanks guys, all the best tomorrow!
i would enjoy the pubs in shrewsbury and enjoy the many great pubs in the town, then get a taxi. about 8 pints may deaden any pangs of defeat. kuffour likes 8 pints i understand, as well
and a bonus is if you got the ground about 16.30 hic, you may be in time, hic, to see gills consolation goal. seriously enjoy the game and welcome to shrewsbury
Haha, thanks mate! I'm on the train at the moment from euston! Really looking forward to it now! Ill try and get home alive
hi keep an eye on your manager, the gas are on the poaching trail, they have tried burton but peschisolido gave them the bums rush. i understand their final interview list includes billy the fish, roy race of the rovers. he is a very sprightly 84 year old, and windy miller amongst others. enjoy the game
naah, we walked back! we got a taxi to the ground, and because our train wasnt to 6 31 we walked back!
