I think if PT plays his normal tactics of maintaining possession in our own half we will take a battering. Maddison will rip us apart. Not forgetting they also have Captain Jack Payne in the engine room, who will be sure to receive a warm welcome back to Priestfield. Other names to watch number 7 Taylor and Vassell, other than that don't really know much else about the rest of the Posh side. I believe they have weaknesses at the back we need to be hitting them hard as a home team. If we let the Posh come at us, we will lose, if we take the game to them we might just win. Well that's my view....banter welcome insults will be removed as we share this thread with the Peterborough United not606 board. I will be at the game.
Loft may be in with a shout of making the match day 18. Will be good to stop the embarrassing captain's arm band merry go round.
The four 21 year olds in The Magpies back four stopped Peterborough scoring on their home patch last Saturday. Do you think this could that rebound against us or not? Am I tempting fate to say that our own young 'Eganites' might achieve the same clean sheet tomorrow? Is our problem more currently up front where we have been mostly goal less of late? So 0 - 0 again? What do you think guys?
"The four 21 year olds in The Magpies back four stopped Peterborough scoring on their home patch last Saturday." Plus the 5 in Midfield sitting deep and 3 of our own players not having a particularly good game, their game plan was to play for a point and County celebrated as though they had won the game at the end. Posh players to watch - Madison (forget that we got him from Gateshead, he was at Newcastle and is a Championship quality player at minimum), Taylor, he may be small but is good on the ball, has pace and strength, Vassell has improved since last season and can be a hand-full, I expect Luke James (our most recent recruit from Hartlepool) to start in place of Connor Washington (who is not 100% fit with a couple of niggly injuries), Smith and Burgess in Defence are quality players, as is Ben Alnwick in goal. Plus Jack Payne, whom you already know a lot about, he has improved as a player since being given the Posh captaincy. We were guilty of missing a couple of clear-cut chances on Saturday when players made the wrong decision in front of goal - but that is what you get with younger players at times. Forget last season's games, this is a much changed and improved Posh team.
To be honest we are going to get stuffed tonight, we offer nothing going forward without Kedwell and whislt it may be possible to keep a team as poor as Oldham out for 90 minutes, I doubt we can do the same to a quality team like Posh
2 young teams playing each other who can guess how it will go, not conceding early goals will be important for both sides and could be the difference if heads drop. If all our youngsters perform it could be a good match, if they start to worry and drop deep it will be a nightmare.
I'm looking forward to seeing this Madison tonight for the Posh, hope PT's done his homework....and i just hope Payne don't do any cracking screamers into the back of our net!
A rather pleasing result don't you think? It's 11.45 here in Cyprus so I'm off to bed.....tired but happy!
