Come Friday will we be toasting the "eyebrow raising" new crop of GFC legends or going oh god not more non league never will be's? My heart says one thing and head says the opposite. Mr. Scally is holding back the press release of new signing's until friday because the season ticket prices go back up in price. Those who have had faith will get it repaid on friday where we will welcome some new Gills players......I hope! Think they have banned people from training because we will have some trialist's and some other players there and it's better to know nothing rather than get our hopes up and have them dashed. Friday is so close I can taste it!
I know on all the message boards,fans are saying Friday, but is this guesswork on someone's part,and everyone has taken it as gospel. I've not seen anything anywhere that officially says we are going to be unveiling new players then. The only thing I saw which was on GillsConnect earlier in the week,was that Scally is back from Dubai this week and THEY think he will be finalising things
If the story is to believed, I think all this media in the dark stuff just leads to more grief in the long run, when things don't go well. Why can't we just be open and upfront, yeah, yeah it might affect the deal etc, etc. I look around at other clubs and a fair percentage have a reasonable idea of what's going on in their club, us nothing! It better have been worth the wait
Vinney is correct and there has been nothing in the press or website to suggest that there will be a mass unveiling of players on Friday. However, I do feel that Scally may be cynical enough to wait until Friday when the season ticket prices go back up in price. My eyebrows cannot wait any longer to be raised.
we have only been thrown tit-bits of info since the end of last season, just enough to get our minds working overtime, & i believe a 'media blackout' is no different, i predict that the most we can expect friday is 'wait' til next week boys & see what we got for ya, please prove me wrong gills, (im sharpening up my razor to trim mr hendon's eyebrows)
Think people have been saying friday because it is 1st July. That is the day all players contracts end I think and when all transfer's actually go though (unless money has changed hands). For example Andy Barcham is still a Gillingham player at the moment but tomorrow at 9 in the morning (I think) his contract ends and signs for S****horpe. I am not sure but I remember reading somewhere that these are the offical rules. Anyway so we may have waited till Friday so that they are offically Gillingham players. I have no idea I just think this is why.
Which ties in nicely with Scally removing the discounted season ticket prices on Friday. That makes sense (to him)
In all honesty it feels like there's been a media blackout since the end of the season. We've been given nothing. I've gone deaf from the silence and also been starved of information. Still preseason friendlies start in a week. The new season will be here in no time.

yeh i was so shocked when he left. i was in hospital for weeks suffering from depression. still havent really gotten over it really. i mean he was one of the best strikers we've have in the last 10 years id say what really hurt me is that he said to me personally after one match 'i wana test myself ata igher level innit n join a bigga club. u get me'. i thought fair play. but then he joined a second division side in cyprus, that really hurt.
Another reason things are being delayed is that once the contract is signed we have to pay wages immediately. Scally is waiting for as long as possible until the start of the season to start the contracts and the payments. UTG!
