So we get a nice short trip to the new AMEX Stadium Take a look at my latest blog post guys! http://kissthebadge.wordpress.com/2011/06/16/gills-draw-brighton-away/
Should be a good test to see how the boys will compete against some of the top end teams this season. Now we just need to get the easy bit sorted and get some decent players signing!
It's a shame League Cup games are mid week fixtures, could have been a good weekend out down there! Will probably make the journey nonetheless, albeit with the opinion we will lose anyway. I have a feeling Brighton wil far from struggle next year. Always a fan of visiting new stadiums and this one seems rather impressive.
It's always a difficult one. Traditionally, the Carling Cup, Milk Cup etc has been held as a mid-week fixture. If you start moving more League fixtures to mid-week, then this may upset the season ticket holders who cannot make the mid-week games due to work commitments etc. Take the Premiership for example, how many of a Club's League games are now played on a Saturday afternoon? Public travel for many is very difficult on a Sunday so lots of fans miss out on their Club's fixtures and perhaps "save" the Sunday games for the so called glamour clubs.
Not bad draw, we will lose and sorry to say this but that will be a good thing, we can then concentrate on the league, this mickey mouse cup does get in the way sometimes. On another note some premiershit(p) teams call the FA cup a nuisance, that is a different matter the FA cup is worth winning being the oldest domestic cup game on the planet. Up the Gills. "He's coming home, he's coming home ,he's coming ,Kedwell's coming home!!"
Suppose it's ironic that with them playing at Priestfield for a few years we could be the first team to play a competitive game at their new stadium
