BBC Radio Kent Sport ‏@BBCKENTSPORT 6m "Gillingham FC lose their appeal against tribunal ruling that ex-player Mark McCammon was racially victimised."
Sad day indeed. I can take McCammon taking us over wrongful dismissal. When this last came up brb posted the employment regulations and I think his case was able to justify that. His case didn't justify being racially victimised but the courts gave it anyway. More bad publicity for us for which the decision is clearly wrong.
Very long story mate and if I get any aspect of it wrong then I'll probably be done for libel. Let's just say one snowy day, I had a long journey into work, I got caught for hours in the traffic. I had no choice but had to go to work because my boss would have been on my case, in the same way he was with some other employers and deducted holiday. At the time I did not work locally and had to travel many miles and yet I made it to work...that is the truth and my very own story of a particular day that I remember well as a mere individual that does not lead the life of a footballer.
Yes brb, but did you feel discriminated against because all your white anglo saxon colleagues were able to stay at home and have snowball fights with their kids? You Asians are just as vulnerable as black guys like Maccammon or season ticket holders at Priestfield.
Have you tried the appeals process! I sent an email to the club a while back addressed fao our chairman in regards to STs and a specific experience and still not had a response. i guess following up on customer specific administration is a problem. Do you think ive got a case for appeal....lol
The 70k be gone pretty quick, thats not a massive sum. Then he will have to WORK to earn like the rest of us.
Hi Maesto, as your a non Gills fan this is the media's view...http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-kent-23944340 and this is the club's official statement...http://www.gillinghamfootballclub.com/news/article/mark-mccammon-statement-1033564.aspx?
I'm thinking of offering him the job of clearing up the 'autumn leaves' in my garden. It will only involve a bit of work over a very short period of time. I'm sure that he's got the right qualifications...................... mind you I'd like to see him tackle the snow that drifts in the 40 yard driveway I have. (fact).
Cheers brb. Looks like you lot have been stitched up. Had to laugh at the first link, where he says......"it sort of sabotaged my career...". Either it blew up or it didn't.
