Brilliant start to the season from every player in a fantastic 4-0 win against the league one favorites. Wonderful display from both full backs in Dickenson and Jackson. In Jackson we have a new weapon with his Delap throw ins but also played well in defense and going forward. Dickenson was brilliant today and could have been mom with his display and superb corners. Egan and Oshilaja were eminence and both scored. Midfield was excellent with Hougton Morris then Hessy playing well but Osedebe and Dack a real handful and both scoring and Dack with possibly the goal of the season contender with his magnificent goal in the top left hand corner goal. Both Norris and Williams were a handful upfront aswell with great running.
Don't forget to see the goals tonight on ch 5 at 9pm especially Dacks.

    I don't want to watch any other football tonight ( except C 5 @9pm) - I don't believe that you'll see a better performance.
I've been watching The Gills for a very long time - but today we displayed one of the best all round performances that I have EVER seen.

Those of you who couldn't make it to the game missed an absolute treat - a fantastic performance - and an early contender for goal of the season ( I'm not talking about either of the first two goals ).

My only worry - we were too brilliant - things surely can only go downhill from here. ( I 'd be ecstatic if I was wrong ).

brb - please tell me that you didn't miss the game - it would rank up there with Hereford !

We may of played just aswell against Swindon when we won 5-0 on the opening day of a previous season and we were relegated so hope history does not repeat itself. I am sure it won't.

Many of us will remember the 5-0 v Swindon.

I believe that there is a considerable difference between the two matches. Today our midfield and defence were magnificant when required. The midfield in particular were in almost total control of the game. The only time Sheffield were 'allowed' to get near our goal was in the first 15 minutes of the 2nd half - and, of course, this was to be expected. JE would have told the side to keep their shape and remain solid and 'see out' this inevitable period of play.

After the 60 minute mark, Gills resumed their attacks. The pace that we showed in changing from defence to attack was a wonderful breath of 'fresh air.'
I said, after the Brighton game, that if we replicated THAT performance we would end up high in the league. We have youth, pace and ability in abundance in our midfield - (Chelsea players need to be on their guard - or Houghton will be recalled straight into their first team - he IS that good). We don't need recognised strikers if our midfield attack teams as they did today - THIS, I think is the main difference with todays' squad and that of 2009/10.

and, at the moment players like Ehmer, Loft, McDonald, McGlashan may not be good enough to get in the starting 11.

If we get relegated this season, I will eat what is left of my season ticket book.

I agree that no one should walk into the team, if the team is playing well and winning but there will be changes especially away. Some surprises in the line up was not expecting the two O's starting but both were fantastic today. Dickenson was a revalation at left back ahead of Garmson You kept Jacksons throw ins quiet even better than Lee

Wow, what a performance that was. So much energy, drive and passion. The first half was the best I had seen at Priestfield for a long time. All the new players looked excellent and JE got his team selection and formation spot on. A brilliant goal from Dack to finish off the perfect game. And to think we still have Cody to come back! Great start, well done boys, cmon u Gills!!!!!!!!!!!!

I watched C5 last night thought it was the Gillingham Channel, BRILLIANT I hope like all of us long may it continue, lets see what we do Tuesday as much as I like Cup matches it is the League that counts and some great teams in Div 1,
Sheff Utd will bounce back from this as will Wigan who also got beat.
There was a lot of banter JE inherited PT,s team but he has made it his own now, and longggggggggg may it reign UTG
