Hello and welcome to the all new and improved Match day Hub which is now the official place for Gillingham fans, I decided to update this so that you will know where to go and chat before and during the game. This is here to replace the match day thread and the Starting Line up Prediction, this is where you will now be able to post all your team predictions and score updates. You can now just spend your match day in one place if you are not at the game. This is the thread for the upcoming game, I always post this thread before each game so that you can express your views on the corresponding fixture and can talk between each other during the game, You can post your team predictions before the game, you may include the starting 11 plus the subs which you think will be in the team, no points awarded for your predictions it is just for fun, it allows you to start a healthy debate between each other about the team which we will play or what it should be. If you wish you can post updates freely about the game and chat between yourselves, you are also free to talk about other games bizarre or not. This is open to both Gillingham fans and also the opposition After the match I will allow you all to create a summary on this thread and I will also provide extra details on the game if they are required or if I want to point anything out. You can talk about what was good about the game and what could have been better. During the game I will update the score and the team sheets as soon as they are available, also at the end I will add the table to this thread as it stands. This is here permanently so you will not see the Match day thread or the starting line up prediction threads as this is them combined. I am posting this very early so you can talk about the game in the build up to this massive game and due to the circumstances surrounding the fixture, you can talk about the team and what your thoughts are around the game, this will be the place for the updates on the news on if the game goes ahead infront of fans.
Hope this game is played in front of the fans. Also hope that you will get back to winning ways and that Crewe and Oxford slip up. I will be checking for the scores on my mobile.
and this week matthew,i wanna be,,,,(drum roll) a plymouth morecambe & cheltenham supporter, ( for 95 minutes anyway) with swindon leaving priestfield with star"s in their eye"s, dazed & confused after losing,
I would like the team to be as followed Gazzaniga Evans (Doubt he will play, don't know why as he is great and if he was at another club he would get his chance) Essam King (Hope Frampton don't play) Jackman (If he is available, otherwise Martin) Whelpdale Lee Payne (If he is available otherwise Spiller) Kedwell Vine Miller Subs Flitney Frampton Montrose Weston Kuffour
Will unfortunately miss this one - first home game I haven't attended for the best part of 8 years. I don't think there's much point predicting what you'd like the side to be these days, Hessenthaler has his favourites and I believe he'll go for the following:- Gazzaniga Fish Essam Frampton (former Swindon player so will hopefully have a blinder) Martin Payne Jackman Whelpdale Kedwell Vine Kuffour SUBS Flitney Evans Weston Montrose Miller
Is Charlie Lee not going to be back in time, hope he is as we are missing him dearly and also Spiller what about him?
Knew I missed somebody out. The injuries are taking a toll on my judgement. Know they both got 45 minutes against Brighton in the midweek friendly so will both probably take up a place on the bench. SURELY Mr Hessenthaler this allows us to play a more balanced 4-4-2 formation? The four strikers starting against Oxford was a tactical nightmare. Slight amendment to the above then. This the team that I would like to see. Gazzaniga Fish Essam Frampton Jackman Whelpdale RM Lee Payne Spiller LM Kedwell Vine SUBS Flitney Evans Montrose Miller Kuffour
OMG -has anyone seen who the ref is for this game Steve Rushton. Think Bradford (home) LAST season! First half, whistle, whistle, whistle, whistle, whistle, whistle. Second half was as though someone had a quiet little word with him at half time. Asked by some Gills posters at the time on the old BBC606, was he the worst ref ever?
I think I remember him, because he didn't want to let the game flow, he is an idiot, lets hope he has changed his game.
After losing to Aldershot, I reckon Swindon will come at us hard and fast. Hope we can have them over.........we should be able to (however we are at home and seem to save our best for away).
- Windy - I reckon if we put 10 men behind the ball - don't really bother to try to play - hope that the opposition are wasteful in front of goal -have one of our forwards disrupt the flow of the game by falling down all of the time - then latch on to a cross after a slip by a defender and get a lucky ( if well taken goal ) then hope to get all the luck going - where the opponent just can't score and thereby holding on for a 1-0 win. Of course that would never happen !
Speaking of referees...the referee's assessor for the game (i'm sure i have read somewhere) is Paul Alcock. Not a Di Canio fan i don't think!!!
