Current league table As of 07.03.13 Gillingham sit top of League 2 on 66 points after 35 games and are 2 points ahead of Port Vale who sit second after 36 games. Plymouth sit 23rd after 35 games on 36 points. HOADIEâS View on this match I think this could be a banana skin of a game but then again we are not good at home, I have a feeling that this game will go one way or another and that is that we will win by a good margin or we will lose. I think the first of them will be the outcome. The score line and scorers I think the score will be 3-0 to the Gills with Kedwell, Robinson and Dack getting the goals.
The team will be a bit different, I think it will be. Nelson Fish Legge Barrett Martin Gregory Whelpdale Robinson Weston Burton Kedwell However I would play this team if Weston is fit. Nelson Fish Legge Barrett Martin Gregory Whelpdale Robinson Weston Dack Kedwell That is a formation of 4-1-3-1-1 with Dack as an inside forward behind Kedwell.
Mad Dog has said he's going to make a few changes and I wouldn't be surprised if he starts with East tomorrow. Im going with this: Nelson East Legge Barrett Martin Gregory Whelpdale Lee Dack German Kedwell
Who's in, Who's out, Who we got left... Nelson East, Legge, Barratt, Martin Lee Robinson Whelpdale Keds Dack German We all know my selection is completely wrong but what the heck!
Today's teams : Gillingham: Stuart Nelson, Matt Fish, Adam Barrett, Leon Legge, Joe Martin, Steven Gregory, Anton Robinson, Chris Whelpdale, Bradley Dack, Danny Kedwell, Antonio German. Subs: Tommy Forecast, Callum Davies, Michael Richardson, Danny East, Charlie Lee, Deon Burton, Adam Birchall Plymouth Argyle: Jake Cole, Maxime Blanchard, Guy Branston, Anthony Charles, Onimsor Bhasera, Conor Hourihane, Lee Cox, Jason Banton, Ronan Murray, Rueben Reid, Andres Guttieri. Subs: Ollie Chenoweth, Nick Chadwick, Jamie Richards, Luke Young, Paris Cowan-Hall, Gozie Ugwu, Paul Wotton
I think Martin Allen has got it right today, have to see about German but everyone else what I thought it should be with Weston out as I nearly got it right
good performance today with German and Dack brillant. Lets hope we can carry on winning at home as we have some tough away matches starting with exeter away on tuesday. The crowd was so big as free tickets were given to schools. ps i think i may of been a little harsh on German after the last home game.
Great results today with Port Vale Rotherham and Cheltenham all losing, not worried about Burton someones got to go up with us!! 8 pts clear of 4th and most of chasing pack have 9 to play
Only just got home from the game. I was going to add a comment but I will try and write a match report later if I get time. It is the least the lads deserve.
What a brilliant day, I will write later as I am seeing a mate who turned up after the game, ain't seen him for ages.
Huge improvement. There was more attacking from Gills in the first 45 mins than in the previous 4.5 months. However, the various substitutions really did weaken the team and we ended up having a nervous last 15 mins when a meaner ref could have given at least one penalty to Plymouth. There was much good news though. Dack had a tremendous hour before he ran out of steam. Kedwell gave a masterclass in linking the midfield with the attack. German had some good moments but only managed one out of three gilt edged chances. The midfield still looks unconvincing but as a unit they played much further upfield which provided much more attacking momentum than we have seen for a long time. Much better overall and the other teams seem to be trying to hand the trophy to the Gills.
