Sorry I am out. After Tuesdays game I feel strongly our season is over . Looking forward to next season and hopefully a strong team situation were we have players who want to give 110% for the owners and the fan's .which I feel is missing
Dear Windyrog, you have embarrassed me ! You clearly do not possess the literary skills that I (should) have! My vocabulary has greater technical range and ability than your usual monosyllabic efforts…….. or – it (should have) has on paper, at very least { no pun intended } Members on this forum have come to expect their literary entertainment from me!...not from somebody against whom I only pit my ‘expertise’ on a couple of times a year… ‘Members’ expect me to enthrall them with exciting prose throughout all of my posts – not just a scrambled effort towards the punchline of an article…… ‘Members’ expect me to give respect for their undivided attention – for which they have paid handsomely (( unless they receive free broadband ! )) They expect honest effort and commitment from me --- although they can forgive the occasional spelling mistake. ‘Members’ expect me to ‘perform’ for more than half the time! What members do not expect is for some minor playwright (you)– who has failed to ‘score’ any accolade in most other previous posts, to suddenly put me to the ‘sword’ – using their ballpoint pen as if it was being held by William Shakespeare……. ’Members’ don’t want to see me as somebody who you have made look as if I am only capable of writing with a crayon – let alone somebody gifted in the ability of stringing several consonants and vowels to achieve ‘scores’ of volumes and verse. I should be gracious in defeat – but- they are becoming more frequent – and less palatable. Many ‘members’ have long since abandoned their ‘library’ of choice – now opting for ‘ Kindle ‘ versions to which they can subscribe and have a wider range at their disposal. Windyrog, you have failed to usurp other members in this forum by your ‘responses’ – and yet, for at least half of the time, you match my contributions. You seem to simply walk past my posts as if the sheets of paper on which they are written are blank and devoid of a Plan A – let alone a Plan B…. Sadly, Windyrog, I have no answer…. And I can offer only the same excuses and mitigation – that I was having an ‘off day.’ – that I was tired from my long posts of the previous few days (( when you had at least a two week break ! ))…. Unfortunately it does not look as if I will even be nominated for the Booker Prize this year….. Perhaps I need to burn all my books and obtain new pens and start afresh….. I am unsure if I will receive enough money from my sponsor to achieve a ‘ best seller ‘ – and will have to rely on the goodwill of my long-suffering fans….and, on this occasion, you have made me look as if I do not know towards which end my pen needs to face.... I definitely need a new 'sharpener' - as my pencil is blunt (( if it still has any lead therein ! )) Windyrog – do you do metaphors ?
We are Gills, we always do things the hard way, and always be prepared to expect the unexpected, we've been waiting all season to hammer someone, let today be that day...
