Gills 2 (Nichols Lapslie) Grimsby 0 Unable to post for the Mansfield game…… on a safari trip with no internet.
I mentioned in a previous post. Not sure what the gaffer's plans were or are???? We had Nichols taken off due to an injury which may keep him out for 2 weeks????? Then he is named to play against Mansfield and played a full game??. I was unable to watch the match so not totally sure what happened. BUT Lapslie, who was the 2nd highest goalscorer for Mansfield was kept on the bench until the start of the 2nd half with O,Brien who is another well-known striker., brought on at the same time. TOO late. Now tonight he has stated he may change his side completely FFS. What is going on? To boot the results above us went the wrong way. So tonight we are playing what should not have been a six-pointer being a MUST win six-pointer. Our game-in-hand situation is now changed and only Hartlepool in the bottom ten being in our favour. They are away to fellow strugglers Crewe. Crawley away to play-off hopefuls Stockport. Harrogate away to another play-off hopeful Salford. So tonight we need to win and win good. Dont know what the gate sales are but hopefully full again if the ticket sales options are the same as the last home match. I am going for a clean sheet and a big win. TMKB 3 v 0 Mariners ( Lapslie. Vital 3 points and out of the bottom 2, really happy with that. I was starting to get worried we would have to settle for the point, but Hawkins knew differently. It's that extra quality that we bought in the Jan window that told the difference in the end.
