We have Bristol City again. I was hoping for QPR or Watford at home however we have Bristol City which is a shame as we had them last year but saying that what do people want, good performance in the cup or just a big early tie?
At least it's a home tie. It's a little shame that only 3 other ties involve significant distance for travelling away fans - we've missed out on any localisation of the draw - unlikely to attract a decent attendance. It might actually be our first competitive home game - and should prove a good test of the squad.
I suppose its better than some teams like I would have hated to draw a league 2 team that we've slugged it out against for the last 3 years (Morecambe or someone like that) and because it is Bristol City we can treat it as a league game and get into the rhythm quicker. However you can hardly see it as a magical cup tie can you! Not to be too negative but I see it being a 2-1 bristol win and then were out. I'd rather draw a big team and just have the day out at Bolton, QPR, Millwall and the like because what Bradford did was a once in a lifetime achievement and we won't win the cup so we may as well get a good day out out of it!
According to the BBC site this tie is taking place on Tuesday 6th August. So can't see me going to it.
