I am going to be at the game tomorrow so I will also be on here later after the game to write a match Review.
Not the best game so far, hope we up the tempo second half, I will write later when back from the game.
According to the BBC website, there are 7,074 at Priestfield today. That's easily the biggest attendance for a home game this season.
Yeah they said that at the game, Shame the players did not reward the supporters. I will be writing my report in the next ten minutes.
Right lets get started, Match ratings. Flitney 6- There was not he had to do and he was rather shaky in the first half, but on the otherhand he was much better in the second half, but only really basic catching, there was not much he had to save. Lawrence 6- Played at right back, Very slow, he is a centre back, Passing bit off the mark and also he was playing the ball to the wrong people, also played it out at times he didn't have to. Richards 7- Better than Lawrence, Strong played the ball well and had to run for the ball a lot to put it up field. Frampton 7- Not as good as Richards but good, Better than he has been most games but not his best game still. Martin 7- Good running forward, but played too much up field in the first half, needs to play it along the ground more, Good at getting the ball to Weston and Kedwell though. Nouble 9- My man of the match even though Jack Payne was the actual man of the match, He played really well, Got a lot into the box, Got the ball to Weston and Kuffour a lot, Had one or two chances, Played well with Kedwell passing to him. J.Payne 8- Good commanding midfield, Good passing, played the ball well, but needs to play it on the ground more. Lee 7- Not his best game, but he was good, Passing was mostly good, Tackling at a good standard. Weston 8- Showing more of what we used to see, great running, good chance on goal, one of the best today. Kuffour 7- Not the best he has played this season, lively but not much he could do with the ball played in the air for most of the game. Kedwell 8- Great work rate and great at holding the ball, passing on the mark, but not putting much at goal, Can't remember a shot on goal, not even off target, passed a lot to Nouble or Weston. I think Nouble was man of the match as he was very fast and lively down the wing, Played a lot into the box, but overall we lacked cutting edge. Weston played well and had a chance or two, I am happy with how he played but we need to make more threats to them if we wanting to score. Right now to the subs, Montrose 6/7- For the time he was on he was good, not great but all his passing was good. S.Payne 7- Did not have long on the pitch but was great in the time he was on, Would be 8 or 9 if he was on longer, had two or three good runs, Had a good chance at 90 minutes, should have been given longer as I think he would have made the difference. Overall I think the gills were not at the best, Kedwell was good today, but he should have taken a chance or two on goal, Feel like this was two points dropped but we have to move on from this and just play better next week, but amazingly we are in the play off's now but 7 points off the Automatics. From this I don't think Bradford will go far, they will be down the bottom as they waste a lot, they are rather physical and lacked cutting edge like us. Finally we were a bit dull and it was not a fun game to watch with not much to see, but when is 0-0 a good score.
dont think nouble was worth a 9 tbh yes played well and was my man of the match but he skinned the bradford defenders with ease but his crossing was off the mark, certainly in the first half. kuffour was marked out the game tbh and when we did get the ball into his feet looked dangerous, very unlucky in the 5th min and for me should have had a pen in the 10-15th min but hey ho. at the end of the day bradford came to us hopeful of taking a point and set up that way, they were better in the air (mainly due to their size and strenght) but we didnt play well enough to break them down and score. although how we didnt score duirng that game of pinball in the 90th min i dont know. thier goalkeeper was just getting up and diving across the goal every second
The game was scrappy overall, I agree they just wanted a point just as much as their manager Phil Parkinson wanted to get his point across, he is an idiot, he got very annoyed, Would have hit our fans if they did not hold him back, 3 stewards to hold him back LOL> A few of our fans were swearing at him which is wrong as everyone is human and everyone will react but he should just walk. He does moan a lot, Jumping up and moaning about everything, The ref was right with most things, should have given another yellow for a Bradford player diving.
how you can give anyone above a 6 today amazes me, lawrence was out of position every single time, weston was out of the game for most of it and flitney couldnt catch a cold. hess didnt change anything, payne was ok when he came on but had no time to make an impact. £10 and i still felt ripped off, bradford deserved all 3 points.
I agree Lawrence was out of position but I disagree with you on Weston, his movement when he got a chance was great.
Sorry Hoadie but that save from Flitney was worth 8 on it's own, without it we would have lost today.
Those ratings do seem quite generous considering how badly we appeared to play (on the Gillsplayer). Sounded like Hessy was tactical out thought once again and failed to make any meaningful changes to the game. Two things puzzle me about today; 1) Why change the team from Tuesday's excellence performance; and 2) Why does Hess insist on playing Weston out on the left where he is completely ineffectual?
Dare I say it... I doubt he reads this site so it should be safe to say so.... But did we miss a certain little impact sub today? No ignore me, I know I'm going completely mad
