I may write my own report if I have been to the game and I will give my overall opinion on the result and what I thought of the individual performances of each player. Team News Gillingham will have a couple of players missing with likely to be injured Chris Whelpdale as well as Matt Fish injured. Bradford City will have Carl McHugh missing. My View This is a tough game but it is about time that we win, hopefully this will be the same where things change. Gillingham 2-1 Bradford City (Kedwell, McDonald- Wells)
For some reason I have a good feeling about todays game.It will probably be painful to listen to until the final whistle, but I think we will edge the game and get our first win of the season.Bradford have started the season really well and have adapted to League one well,I would say that the momentum from last season would have helped that.We did the double over them last season, and playing against a side we know from last season could be the perfect Match to get the win and confidence up. If we lose the game it will be hard to see where the win will come from.
I think we will try to con them by allowing them 60% possession in the first half, once they start to get complacent we will drop back onto our 18yard box and concede a late goal. Oh! hang on that's what we've been doing all season, maybe we could try plan "B".
No Grumpy........in order to cut out some of the misery we gave it to them in the 9th minute. We spent the next 81 minutes defending that deficit heroically, with the whole team throwing their bodies on the line. MA was heard to say "110%......I could not have asked for more from the team today, we battered them and in truth we could have gone in at half time at least 5 goals up". At least I got it right with the 0-1 prediction........I am sorry to say. This is an absolute crock of sh*t at the moment. WTF is going (or not) at present.............
I thought we would lose with out creating much and that's exactly what happened. To be honest we could have played until midnight and we would not have scored. Really poor display and a real lack of passion and energy. The only positive is the fans tried to lift the team and never got on their backs . I really can't see us improving significantly as the gap in quality is massive in my opinion. So I think we will be going down to league 2 next season. What I fund puzzling is how well the other teams that have come up ith us have adapted so quickly to league 1. I blame this on MA so I think he needs to go. Lets get a manager in that is tactically alert and able to turn our season aound
Nothing new today. Just confirmation of what we know already. A team of good triers who are just short of the class needed at this level. There is no bad luck, no adjustment to a higher standard taking place, no significant injury list, no wrong selections that can be corrected nor any other excuses. Gills are just totally out classed by the opposition every week even when the opposition has an "off" week. Responsibility rests with the Chairman and Manager. There is no point in sacking MA, he has made some errors of judgement and he needs to try and correct them with the resources at his disposal and that will be difficult but even more difficult for someone new. The key errors were made last year!
We tried to tell them didn't we bristol? btw I heard Danny Jackman on Radio Kent after their defeat to Dartford on the way home...interesting listening.
Yes, I heard the same whilst I was driving home. It seemed he was genuinely taken aback that Gills wanted to see the back of him 6 months after being player of the season. It was also interesting to hear the attraction of Kidderminster. He also made it abundantly clear that MA had said he would not be playing. I think Jackman would have had more imagination than anything we saw in midfield today.
lf we're going to play hooball - then let's do it right. http://uk.eurosport.yahoo.com/blogs...ck-off-leads-seven-second-goal-140323937.html
Well that didn`t go well! It was painful to listen to though.Bradford did sound like they could score more goals and dangerous on the counter attack. It did seem like we were streets apart compared to last season when we played. It really is hard now to see where that first win will come from.
Don't panic people, I miss my first league game of the season next Saturday...or as alwaysright would say...Hereford time...lol...jeez I can sense some grief coming my way if it happens!
Regards todays game. Not good. I don't know whats gone wrong but the players seem to have lost the faith so either MA has to go or they do I think we will struggle to get to 50pts
Do you know,I think I'm in a majority of one here, because I actually thought we played quite well. I thought Cody and Bayo teamed up well together, but the defence still looks dodgy, and to concede straight from a corner is criminal, but apart from that, I don't think a win is far away.
I wrote MA a letter during the week and the defence was one of the subjects I brought up. I will publish his reply if he does bother to.
