Anyone going? Long way for a midweek game for most, but it's one of my local ones and I've got me ticket. Me and 2 other SAFC fans from Caterham (I know of 5 in the town) are going over there, if anyone can meet up for a swift half beforehand. Been to their ground twice before. Firstly, a (3-2?) play-off defeat in 1987, when Iain "Fatty" Hesford went walkabout for one of theirs. Secondly, a Kevin Kyle masterclass (yes, honestly...!) in a 3-1 win.

I’m thinking of going marra, I’ve got to be back in Fareham for Bank Holiday Monday to meet the new batch of apprentices so might just go a few days early.
I was at Priestfields for the play off defeat and again for a match vs Mansfield when I was in Rochester for a couple of weeks.

Cool. Let me know if you go. I suspect we'll have a swifty before the match, assuming we can get into a local pub without getting set on by the locals :)

Did you really need to bring up the 3 : 2 defeat that lead to us drawing 7 all and going down on away goals? This was the only other time we were in the third division.

No point in bleating about it.

    (a) it was 30 years ago and (b) we're in the third tier now, so it can hardly be more painful!

I can't make a mid-week game, just not practical for me with work commitments, but if any of your lads are travelling down and need any local advice then tag me in and i will see if i can help.

Don't trust him lads. You'll end up in the Medway with a large chain and brick attached.

I don't want to hear any moaning about travel from anyone. Our first game of the season was Walsall away. Have a look on the map to see the distance. Apparently that is our third shortest distance of travel this season so it's almost a local derby. We managed to be about one third of the crowd that day. I've heard nobody is going to Sunderland away though. Not because it's too far but because the stadium of light is too big for us to cope and we would only be mesmerised if we went.........

Was just looking at overnight stays in the area and all the Prem Inns with restuarants/boozer next door have all doubled their prices that night <laugh>

Yeh but a quid a night still ain't bad brb. Especially with a free bar chucked in. Do they still have grab a granny night since the Dockyard closed? (just thought I'd help you paint a picture for the tourists)

In truth i would probably avoid Gillingham Town Centre for any sort of stay/visit, it is a shhite hole. Maybe visit Rochester instead, the New Rail Station there is right opposite the main area for pubs, bars and restaurants in Rochester. You are then only several stops away from Gillingham or a 15/20 minute drive. You also have a Wetherspoons in Rochester if you are looking for cheap beer and grub. If you are looking for an overnight stay, most places are charging around £100 a night but you might find some cheap BB's (not checked). But there are a couple of Prem Inn's in the Rainham/Gillingham area with adjourning restuarants/pub, and are ok if you want to pay their prices.

If really do want to go into Gillingham there is a boozer right opposite the station, i know it is planned to change to a Spoons but don't think that has happened yet, however, if you want a peaceful trouble free visit, probably best avoid that place too, normally a hot spot for trouble if any idiots do kick off. There is a micro boozer in Canterbury Street (I think that's the name of the road) - just off the high street, away and home supporters of latter years mix with no trouble if you want real ale.

The main boozer for Gills supporters is the Cricketers in Sturdee Avenue, not to be confused with the same named place in Rainham. You will not get in there is my guess, big match days the bouncers will check your match tickets, and away supporters are turned away.

I think the designated away pub for those back in the day was the Livingstone Arms. Last i knew that place had closed down. However, search the internet, plenty of boozers around, just avoid the High Street and Station area would be my shout, but i'm sure you are all big boys and can look after yourselves.

If you want free parking check out Cornwallis Avenue but just remember you will be the wrong end of the ground but can access the away end by walking down Gordon Road, from that end of the ground just walk pass the first entrance (Gills Stand) and you should be guided by the police/stewards from there. Majority of Gills supporters will be entering from Redfern Avenue. If you come from the Station, just turn left out of the Station and stay straight on that road and it will take you into the Away section. If it's pissing it down, bring a waterproof, there is no cover and you will standing on what is literally a scaffolding tower!

    Safe Journey Lads <ok>

Because i was tagged here if you look!

But tell yer what i will not come here if you are the spokesperson for the board fine by me.

And you know damn well why you was banned. As i told you before, you ignore me and I will quite happily ignore you, the consequence of that will be i will now keep off your board as well.

And for what it's worth I thought you mocking mental health was disgusting, especially how you mocked it on one hand, and was discussing suicide the next morning, despite my efforts to ignore you.

Oh **** off you pretentious ****. I've explained the reasons for that thread but if you choose not to believe that, then that is your problem.

Your hypocrisy stinks brb. Which is what I pulled you up on, which is why you ranted. You didn't like the home truths that I told you and clearly still don't. I can handle what you said to me because I know it's true.

I've got no idea why I',m banned from the Gillingham board, none at all. Want to enlighten me? Or is the truth that it's personal, because I was getting on well with that board...

I'm no spokesperson for this board, just pointing out the sheer cheek of banning me from your teams board for no reason at all and then you yourself posting on here <ok>
