Simon With regards Eric, i was more angry about the timing, ie waiting until our only right back was injured. I was wrong about Clayton and have said that. I havent said every signing been bad, kasper, bannan, watt. You did also criticize Eric himself before you'd seen him play. I've never said every signing was a good one, I have said we should give everyone a chance! I think Brown will be a good signing, he's played one bad game and one good, you can hardly say he's failed. Clayton wasn't "the type of player we should be looking for", neither were Gradel, Snoddy, Becchio or Somma. You criticize first and ask questions later.
Everyone thinks Lichaj was perfect but he was actually poor when he first came. He kept getting caught out of position and we conceded a lot of goals from his side.
Just a note to say, Gillett was actually a really well liked player when he was with us (Saints) just the wrong type of player at the wrong time as he never really got a chance. VERY tenacious, spiky little ****er who will get around a lot and passes pretty neatly. Clubs he went out on loan to all seemed to love him, if you get him he'll be comfortable at this level I've no doubt.
i still believe brown is the perfect type of player for our midfield, good teams breed experience with youngsters, we only had youngsters last year, in the midfield especially. I know nothing about gillett, anyone got any open minded views on the actual player, not whether bates will pay for him or anything like that, whether he is any good?
