From being completed done over at Molineux last week we face another promotion contender Brentford on Saturday. Let's not kid ourselves ( a regular Allen quote) we haven't started well, but am I overly fussed, not really! We've played two league games and have 44 to go. One thing that I wouldn't say I'm concerned about, more frustrated about is the size of the squad at the moment. If we want to do well in league one surely we have to give ourselves the best opportunity to do so, that includes a squad of say 18/19, some may think more.

I understand we're not the Monaco of league one but there has to be a bit of money floating about for players surely! We sold Jack Payne for 750,000 at the end of June and have replaced him with a top top player in Amine Linganzi, this boy is the nuts trust me (only when you don't play him with Gregory, no that doesn't mean that I'm having a pop at Gregory in any way, shape or form). However I'd like to see us sign one more central midfielder, it doesn't have to be a permanent signing, just a month loan and if they've performed well a season long loan deal. Tottenham have released Dean Parrett I believe, would be worth a look at on a months loan, if he isn't any good fair enough, if he is, why not sign him on a season long loan. I've heard Plymouth were taking him on trial so its not as if he's too good for league one.

I'd also like to see us extend Michael Harriman's loan from QPR if we can, quick strong right back by all accounts.

Not at all worried about surviving in this league, I just believe we can give a really good account of ourselves with a few more additions to lift the players and the fans.

Finally I hope that this is the team that is played Saturday:

    Nelson
    Harrimann
    Legge
    Barrett
    Martin
    Linganzi
    Lee
    Whelpdale
    Weston
    Bayo
    Cody

    Subs:
    Howard
    Davies
    Kedwell
    German
    Dack
    Gregory
    Allen

Very rational and well balanced argument there.

When I looked at our first six weeks of our schedule, I thought we would be lucky to get out of it with more than four points or so. If we had, then I'd have been ecstatic. I don't expect us to compete for promotion in our first year back, I expect us to survive...something we didn't manage last time.

Our season will not be judged based upon the way we played Wolves. We were unlucky against Colchester and Bristol City are a team, like Wolves, who have much more resources and experience at a high level...they were a quality side who i believe will go up again playing like they did against us.

We're weathering the opening storm and things will certainly get easier. A win this weekend would change the attitudes of a lot of the bed wetters very quickly.

My wife always tells me it's not the size but the quality that counts.
