due a dispute between local police policing the town center when home games play, gillingham find themselves in hot water with police chiefs over unpaid police bill ,chairman scully refuses to pay the extra policing charges and could have only season ticket holders attend games out of order or what?
i dont know ive read it in the local press down here,it seems scully is a bit annoyed with whats going on who can blame him i think its out of order myself add extra charges to their original bill to the gillingham owner hes struggling as it is
why don't you pay the bill you **** biscuit , nobody should pay the law man (and other such rebelious thi.......
So they do have money trouble then? I didn't know that, i know about Port Vale, but i though Gillingham were fine.
kyle from what i believe gillingham owner refused to pay bonuses to the players last year i cant rem where i read it i think it was on google should be on that somewhere hope soeone can dig it out for me i dont know if everything ok down their so im hoping brb can let us all know whats going on if they dont go up in next 2-3 seasons scully i think will sell up see if i right
I've just checked, there doesn't seem to be any issues. It looks like the owner is just being tight fisted.
Jon - The Gills have made no comment. If you want a personal opinion, why should lower league clubs just pay up because the authorities tell you too. We generally steward our own place. I estimate at least 100,000 visits have been made to Priestfield this season and in all 21 of the 22 home matches I have been at, how many instances of trouble have I seen from home fans, ONE. Yeah, you get excitable home and away fans but it is generally nothing more than that. So why should any one hand over wads of cash because the authority says so? Crikey, I can see more trouble walking through some town centres. Are the authorities going to start charging other businesses bundles of cash during peak trading periods to police the area.
the police should set a fee at beg of season perhaps go half with the clubs or council ive been to gillingha a few times seen no problem in the town yr right brb the club have own stewarding in fact lower league clubs could tell police to concentrate on other things other than at footy matches stewards are quite capable of sorting stuff in my opinion
jon - he wouldn't know -he's missed one home match this season- so has no idea as to the size of the attendance. Just to humiliate him further - brb missed the game v Hereford. Gillingham won 5-4 but were 0-2, then 2-2, then 2-4, then 4-4, then Gillingham saved a penalty before a mad scramble of a 95 minute winner ( boring game ) brb has taken some stick over this on the Gillingham forum.
I accept that one game miss will live with me forever, courtesy of my understanding fellow Gills fans Jon - Yes, you are right between 4 - 6k
that is quite good for a league 2 club even charlton didnt get that when we first moved to the valley )))kedwell ive rated that gillingham game 5-4 against hereford was it my other club,oh dear looks like they going down this year, reminds me of when charlton played huddersfield back in the 50s we where 5-0 down at half time and won 7-6 summers i think got 5 goals that day has anyone seen a game like that before?
