Have you got any music-based plans for the summer months? Have you already got tickets or are you still in the planning phase? Let me know, as we may cross each other's paths at some point. I'll be at the London Stadium tomorrow for The Rolling Stones (ably supported by Florence and the Machine). Later this month, I'll take in Art Garfunkel at the Royal Albert Hall. I've decided to do one night of Download this year, and it's the big one: Guns N' Roses. I'm toying with the idea of Roger Waters at Hyde Park BST, but the World Cup will supercede everything if I decide to head out to Russia (in other words, get permission from the missus). Anyway, let me know what your plans are. I may just pop along and buy you a drink.
I saw The Stones nearly 30 years ago thinking I'd best get it done before they karked it. I may be off on a jaunt with The Bredren dem in the summer but no other festival plans.
BAP in Hannover during my Oktober booze up in Koln. First Aid Kit at the Usher Hall, Edinburgh on Friday 26th October; dependent on catching my booked flight back from Koln to Auld Reekie on Monday 21st October. Some of my pals are going to see The Damned in November however I have decided to give this a miss.
Still a great live band, I saw them first in the mid 80's and went to their 10th anniversary gig in Finsbury Park and also went to their 40th anniversary tour! Shame Rat Scabies isn't with them any more, he was a legend and an incredible drummer.
Did not see many 'punk' bands. Saw The Clash in the Playhouse, Edinburgh and also in Boston (USA). My best pal was born on a bus in Boston however his Mum and Dad returned to Scotland. We were over on holiday and saw a billboard for the concert. The line up was The Undertones, Sam and Dave and The Clash; one of my fav. gigs. Apart from the above my 'punk' days mostly involved local bands in dance halls; The Valves and early Simple Minds. Still think 'Never Mind The Bollocks' is one of the greatest 'rock' albums ever.
Naw they're no. Seen The Stones twice in Germany including one time with my seventy odd year old Mum. She was so pumped up after the concert that she wouldnae go back to the hotel for an 'early' night when we got back to the centre of Frankfurt am Main at around midnight. Had to take her out to some of my late night haunts!
Got my favourite French festival at the end of July, otherwise just going to be working/snorting K in parks. AKA Livin' the Dream
