http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11667_6715781,00.html Words from a true legend. "For me, as a United fan, as soon as you hear City being talked about, you think, well, that can't happen. "He had more than enough people in the dressing room who are closer to him talking to him, so I left it. I didn't really get involved." In other words, he thought Rooney was a ****.
Can't blame him. I think Rooney's one of those modern footballers who really doesn't understand how his actions may be perceived by others. He's not the brightest anyway, and he's completely driven by his own needs/ambitions. Unfortunately this seems to be the case with a lot of his contemporaries these days. Giggs is from a different era, when footballers in general realised how lucky they were to play the game they love and represent normal, everyday people, all while getting paid a handsome wage. The likes of Rooney are so cossetted, pandered to and spoilt from such a young age, that they don't appreciate how lucky they are. As Gary Neville said, the type who need an agent to buy a washing machine.
He's not the brightest anyway, and he's completely driven by his own needs/ambitions. ========================================================== Tbf a lot of poeple are like that and I dont blame him at all.
Stretty Not many people are so oblivious. At the time, he seemed to think he was doing nothing wrong. It needed to be pointed out to him for ****'s sake. There's nothing wrong with looking after your own interests and those of your family, but there's a way to go about these things
I agree with Stretty to a degree, if you had people around you 24/7 from the age of lets say ,14, telling you that you are amazing, then on top of that you're getting paid a riduculous amount of money and then getting even more praise heaped on you as you get to 18-19, anyone would get arrogant, it would nearly impossible not to.
Rooneys actions are typical of professional footballers. Ryan Giggs and Paul Scholes are the last of a dying breed of proper role models and intelligent players who know how to behave off the field. Handing in a formal transfer request is the lowest thing a player can do to a club, and we all know that he did it so he could get a slightly better contract. Theres no loyalty in football anymore.
Well I'd be happy if I was a footballer too. Millions of pounds in wages, playing football all day, the adulation of the fans. I'd be very gay indeed!
"Well I'd be happy if I was shaggin a footballer. Millions of pounds or sperm, playing with a footballer all day, the adulation of my friends. I'm very gay indeed!" Jip Jaap Stam 2011
I think Rooney probably figured people would take his comments as some sort of anti-Glazer protest. The whole 'failed to receive assurances' ballhocks sounded to me like he was hoping fans would side with him and effectively force the club to give him a better contract. He forgot that no one is bigger than the club. Him and his agent seem to be about as smart as each other.....I think Giggsy's comments are bang on.
Mr Nice You should be a journalist mate, that's some mis-quotation there! Or maybe it's just wishful thinking on your part... You want a piece of the Jipster don't you?
then suddenly he comes out and says the owners have reassured him after talks. WHO THE **** DOES HE THINK HE IS. HE IS A ****ING DICK TO FINK HE CAN SPEAK TO THE OWNERS, IS HE SUM SORT OF A FUKING MANAGER OR SOMETHIN, THE STUIPD FUKIN PRICK THINKS HE IS ABOVE EVERYONE AND HAS CHATS ABOUT HOW MUCH TRANSFER MONEY. DOES HE THINK HE IS THE BOSS WHO HAS TO APPROVE THE TRANSFER KITTY? THEN HE COMES OUT AND SAYS ITS SATISFYING OR DOES HE MEAN HIS 200K WAGE? THE FUKIN **** IS A FUKIN PIECE OF **** AND HAS SCORED FUKIN 1 GOAL FROM OPEN PLAY. THE UGLY SCOUSE RAT IS A PRICK AND NEEDS TO FUKIN START SCORING
Nolhman get over yourself. SAF has dealt with the situation. He'll come good again sooner or later. And anyway who cares if he was sold later on, no one is bigger than Utd.
stretty get ur head out off rooneys arse, just do it. He is a ****ing prick who is playing like a 2 legged donkey. The players should be questioning whether or not rooney is fit enough to start for us. the guy is a a load of bollocks and if he does not start scoring and winning us games then he should either be sold or his wage should be reduced by 1/10th as no way in the world does he rival messi or ronaldo. The guy is ****e

Look you ignorant ****, he could have left utd and got over 50% more at city. But he didnt. Who gives a flying **** how he is playing or how much he is being paid?
