Neither will contribute anything for the remainder of the season, as they'll not be match fit, so them possibly being available for selection for the last home game means jack **** in reality. Martinez merely trying to deflect from the disaster that is the Traore deal & the **** up he made of signing adequate cover in January imo
Nothing wrong with looking forward to players returning. Gibson would have allowed Barry to be rested.....he looked leggy recently
Yeah we could do with both of them back fully fit now, to give us options, but neither will make a meaningful contribution this season, so it's a pointless discussion & a red herring from Martinez imo. As he knew they were effectively out for the season before the window opened & he did nothing about it & then sold Jelavic to replace him with a loan player who'd not kicked a ball in 5 months. He made a right arse of the window imo.
I would prefer for him to have a long term plan and secure the summer targets he wants. If he has nothing to spend again then questions will be raised!
I don't think Jelavic should have been sold tbh I didn't think so at the time either we have ****ing Kone and 2 others that don't belong to us!!
I think Kone will surprise a few next season with a full pre-season behind him. Both picked up unfortunate injuries that can happen to anyone this season.
