Sunderland have reportedly lost patience with Manchester United midfielder Darron Gibsonâs wage demands and have ended their interest in him, according to The Daily Mail.
Gibson was apparently demanding £40,000-a-week to move to Sunderland as part of a £12 million triple swoop for Manchester United players, including John OâShea and Wes Brown who completed their transfers to Wearside last week.
However, despite saying how keen he was to work with former United captain Bruce, Gibson and his agent refused to negotiate on the Ireland internationalâs wages, and the Black Cats' chairman Niall Quinn has reportedly lost patience and ended negotiations.
Gibson was planning to leave Old Trafford for more first-team football, but he may find that there are more opportunities now in Manchester, as there are doubts about the health of fellow midfielder Darren Fletcher.
