I know I may be a bit behind the times but my friend recentley lent me a copy of 'The Four Year Plan' and I enjoyed it that much I watched it twice in one day!! Now I know Flabio and Mini me where in it for the money and in no way am I casting GP as an angel but, for me, throughout that DVD he always seemed to have the clubs best interests at heart and he was genuinely overwhelmed and proud when we were promoted and I for one will always try to remember the positives from his time at the club which for most of you was probably the day he left!! Now I know we are only 3 days away from the start of the new season under the fantastic guidance of TF, PB and AB but would we have been here today if GP had not used his contacts and got Flabio and Mini me to save the club? Just a thought.
And he could, so easily, have cost us the lot when we did get to the brink of promotion. He brought the Goons in and the rest is history, thankfully we're rid of them and TF was quick to show him the door. He may have had the club at heart but he was an eyetie version of Del-Boy...
Paladini definatley comes out the worst from that film. He definatley saved the club by bringing in FB and BE (no matter who it was they stopped us getting liquidated) but that eventually almost cost us in the future.
I'd love to see a fly on the wall documentary about their reactions to the last game of the season at Man city. I bet the goons were pissing themselves laughing when it looked like we were going down. Paladini probably wanted us to stay up, but I still can't bring myself to forgive him for fcking up the Faurlin transfer.
Yep, he ruined the triumphant procession we should have been enjoying weeks before the end of the season, with his 'incompetence'. That we woke up on the day of the final game of the season, having already been promoted, with fear that it might be ripped away from us, is utterly unforgivable, even forgetting all the other embarrassments he made us suffer through.
I do think his showing of being overwhelmed on the last day of the season was more down to relief that the FA didn't bring any points deductions which could have cost us promotion hence the tears were more for him and not the club
It was a bit like watching a 5 year old at the wheel of a fire engine. God knows he's loving every minute but he can't for the life of him drive it!
I for one will always be grateful of all the people that have been so important to the journey from then to now. I have no malice towards the goons for without them the club would have been out of the headlines. They all played their part and even NW did us proud ... however as TF says on QPR player ... the world won't wait and so it's all about looking upwards and we will become a London powerhouse within the next four years ... I am convinced that we all won't be able to comprehend where we are heading and I am enjoying every second of it.
Paladini may have good intentions but he is still a clown nevertheless. The scene where he was 'doorstepped' getting into his car after the FA hearing where he was rambling on about the weather(?) was embarrassing. Thank god there is a different era at the club, a professional one.
There was a thread or two like this a while back. Most of us agreed that GP was part villain, part hero but there was considerable difference of opinion about exactly how much of each he was!! I think he was a slightly loveable rogue who over stepped the mark and got found out so tipped towards more villain for me.
True he did find Flav and Bernie and they in turn did 'Save' the club but they all almost ruined it completely too. And boy didn't Flav like to remind us of how he saved us. The guy was like a ****ing broken record. The best thing they ever did for QPR was sell up. It always amazed me how 2 men, who waste million's on utter pointless ****, wouldn't invest in our team once we secured Prem status? The mind boggles. I personally hope the **** gets hit by a bus.
