Ghilas says " "I could not join the team for training but the manager was in the newspapers saying that I was part of his plans. "That was not the case and I had to leave." Another one who's face did'nt fit, regardless of whether people think he was good enough or not. I liked him, never will forget his cracker against Bolton !!! Too many given the boot by NP in my opinion. Oli up next and maybe McShane !!!
un-real. no mention of him losing interest in playing for hull city. 3 managers binned him (PB/ID/NP) as he never looked interested to me. reports that he looked un-interested @ winterton this pre-season was the final nail in his coffin. another waste of millions by duffer duffen. not even good enough for league one level, imo. bye bye kamil bye bye.
Don't think McShane will be. He is exactly the type of character Nigel Pearson likes. Honest, hardworking player who will play anywhere and will run through walls for the side.
I have to agree, 3 managers cannot all be wrong, but this being the case why did we buy him in the first place? As AP made a comment, I think it was in the YP, who in the right mind would pay that sort of money for an unproven player from the level he came from!
I think you're right about AP in the YP. Didn't AP also say that Ghilas' agent had approached us when KG was valued for less money, but AP thought even then he was over-priced? I could have imagined that though. But clearly KG's face didn't fit...with 3 managers
Crap player, too slow considering pace was supposed to be one of his main threats I'm sure he was mistreated and it's not his fault we signed him, but i don't really care if he's upset since we've given him more money than he'll earn the rest of his life. I guess i'll end by wishing him the best of luck for the future, why not eh?!
Personally I think there was a connection between Big Sam Allerdyce and Phil Brown which eventuated in Ghilas arriving at Hull.Didn't Sam give/or offer him a trial and PB thought that if Sam was showing interest that he should too.Maybe even a recommendation but Sam wouldn't have paid out the STUPID fee we forked out .
Ashbee has been the one we've missed the most, but i don't think there's any of the old pl players that we started last season with that i would have in the current team. For Gardner and Zayatte, we have Chester and Hobbs, for ***an we have Koren/Brady, Fraytt/Waghorn for Folan, Basso has now become a more than capable replacement for Duke and we can complement this with the class of Rosenior, Pusic, Stewart etc. Looking at the way things have turned out, NP was right to get rid of the old squad as he has replaced it with good players who look capable of making a promotion push. We miss Ashbee, there's no denying that and we have Garcia and Macca to come back into the fold along wirth Daws, Barmby and the young players (here and on loan). Not saying your opinion is wrong, but compare the results we've had since January to the results we had in the first 4 months of last season than the transformation NP has made to the squad can only largely be seen as a good thing imo.
Brings it all back; and has me nearly blubbing. We really thought that day "here we go" with those two. Still rate them both as well, it's such a pity, there was so much pressure in that league, no time to settle things down.
Can't see it. Scored against Bolton then went downhill and couldn't even impress 3 managers enough to cement a place on the bench. Lost interest and couldn't even raise his game to play and try to impress in friendly games. Loaned out to the French 1st division but as soon as loan period over he was sent back. Now he's loaned out to the French 2nd division and scored a few goals he's the greatest thing since sliced bread. Just can't see what the conspiracy theorist see - he's useless and expensive - that's the reason he's not here.
