I suppose GFH are only arranging the deal for someone else, I really hope so. http://m.yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk...ital-limited-and-gulf-finance-house-1-4966431
Leading and Arranging..... (sorting it out and making it happen for a purchaser) Probably someone who doesn't have time for Bates / or who wishes to remain anonymous for the moment. "GFH would like to confirm that GFH Capital Ltd, a 100 percent subsidiary of GFH, has signed an exclusive agreement to lead and arrange the acquisition of Leeds City Holdings, the parent company of LUFC," the statement said. Anyone know of any High profile Bahranis?
As I understand it GFH Capital are arranging the deal on the behalf of Gulf Finance House, who will be buying the club as a representative of a consortium of individuals i.e. the money men. These won't be Man City type people just there to throw money at the club, they'll be looking for return on their investment, but I'm sure they'll be willing to put money in to make the club successful so they can maximise their return.
You are wrong Simon GFH will be buying Leeds to build up its assets again as they had to sell the majority of them to pay off over $400m of their debts in last couple oy years. They have reduced this debt to just over $100M but their stock is very low http://www.gfh.com/en/default/gulf-finance-house-back-from-the-brink.html
Spot on Simon, the bank will be fronting a VC aquisition (Venture Capital) which will allocate shares on a fixed pre agreed exit strategy term of between 3 and 5 years. The value of the club could be trippled very quickly by purchasing ER and TA, plus gaining promotion to the prem. Its really a no brainer and if the VC's see a bright future and a long term profit gain from owning the club, they will refinance the club in 3 or 5 years time, by paying out the original shareholders and bringing in new ones or accepting the old ones back to the table. Rather than sell it on for a profit.
Eire - Read the link I posted - 2 years ago it clearly outlined their plans for 2012 & buying a small club like Leeds probably fits in with their plans - think they will get a shock at the amount of money required to turn Leeds into a middle-ticket package
Except, as a venture capital business, their job is to find investment opportunities for wealthy individuals, not actually use their own money.
One of GFH's customers is a group called Mangrove Capital Partners - could be something in that one - have a butchers
This is boring, let's discuss the latest results of Leeds and Millwall and our respective league positions. ;-)
I have a feeling this acquisition, take over, buy out or call it what you wish is not a healthy sign. This crowd will be putting the club as a collateral to purchase it. We will be in constant debt.
Ken Bates' final vengeful act - sell the club at a nice profit and put us in worse hands than his? Oh dear!!!!!!!
will be interesting to see how Leeds results go between now and January as most of the squad will know that if this takeover goes through they are likely to be looking of another club
Fair point. Expect that should act as extra motivation. Maybe in top six at Christmas and then bring in Messi and a few big hitters in January. Hows all at Millllllllllwalllllllll anyway Mighty
