Leeds United owner GFH Capital last night confirmed that it had rejected outright the recent attempt to buy a majority stake in the club - and claimed funding was in place to support United without immediate and substantial investment. http://www.yorkshireeveningpost.co....nited-funds-already-in-position-gfh-1-5428412
Never doubted them myself. How people can expect them to turn a failed club like ours round in a few weeks beggars belief. The start of next season is the time to judge them.
and claimed funding was in place to support United without immediate and substantial investment. what else would you expect them to say
Sounds like clever wording again to me. Funds are in place for what? Paying bills, wages etc.? I can accept that. Substantial transfer kitty? Doubt it. We could have signed Woods if money was available. Or Burke for that matter. What's an extra £250k when you think the player is a key piece in the jigsaw for promotion? Nah, let's not get ripped off and stay in the Championship for another year!
IN all this happiness about our futue has anyone notice we are nearer the trap door of relegation than the play offs defeat tonight and the next couple of games and were dragged straight into a dog fight to stay up, now there is a sobering thought !
You might upset some there. Shows how pivotal tonight is. Win and we can hang on to slim hope of playoff, lose and it's your scenario, Clarkey. Only consolation, Milllllwallll will be relegated before us
If you think there's a chance of us getting relegated, you can get 66/1 with paddy power.... Or you can get as high as 33/1 for promotion... Mind, I'd suggest leaving your money in your pocket as it will be neither.
I’ve defended GFH in the past on the basis that it will take time to turn the club around after 8 years of disastrous ownership, but that ‘interview’ is pathetic. Why not just be honest? Either tell us that they don’t have the cash to spend on transfers and so they are looking for additional investors or tell us that there will be funds available in the summer.
Seems they've had to inject 'a seven figure sum'. So much for 'without immediate & substantial investment'. Or is a million quid plus not substantial in their world? http://www.sport360.com/football/gfh-capital-inject-new-seven-figure-sum-leeds-united
