It's about as much use as toilet paper I've already used to wipe my bottom ! For those who read my ticket woe I've recently posted in the ARGRS thread, you'll know that I had 'problems' on Saturday trying to use my 'free 2 tickets to any league fixture voucher' from my season ticket book. I was also verbally told, by a mere ticket assistant, that I wouldn't be able to use the voucher for the game v Swindon ( because it is not a Category B game ). ( AFTER the Chief Executive Officer personally told me I could use the voucher for the Bury game ). Later today I want to pay for two extra tickets for tomorrow's game - but, firstly I have looked on the OS of the Club - and I still cannot find anywhere where it states that the game is not Category B and that STH cannot use the aforementioned voucher. This situation of non communication to the STH is poor. It is unacceptable. It is (again) unfair to STH not so much the financial aspect - but lack of information. What makes more of a nonsense is that on the OS there is still an advert from 16.April 2016 showing an offer for ' Kids for a £1' for the home game v Shrewsbury on 23rd April 2016 !!! ( LAST season ). It also hopes that we'll be pushing for promotion !! -- I think that tells me what chance I have in using my voucher for Swindon's game ! I know that I will ask, over the phone, about the Category status for tomorrow's game - just in case I can use my voucher - I just hope the phone isn't answered by the Chief Executive Officer again - because, from my experience on Saturday, it would appear that he hasn't got a clue. other STH beware !! note --- brb, I think it's time I became a 'very' angry camel !
The Club today, told me that their list of Category B games won't be coming out until October !!! What bloody use is that when the season starts in early August ? -- you really cannot make it up - the organisation of tickets is dreadful.
surely then if the list does not come out till October you should be able to use it for any matches before October.
giolblues - please --- the pain of the incompetence of the CEO (and the 'system') can be unbearable. Am I really the only STH who wanted to use the voucher for the Bury game ? I'm not concerned about being unlucky ( although I did end up with some good fortune ) - I just get so frustrated when The Club can't seem to accomplish the 'basics.' The revelation of the Category B match list not being released until October only makes me more embarrassed at our organisation (in)ability - a joke ! I have exposed the 'elephant in the room', and hope other STH do not have to endure my sufferance.
Nothing changes I see, if it's not herding cattle through the same turnstile it's announcing the change in friends tickets after application and now this, suppose we will be due another fruitless apology. Oh well be grateful we are not Charlton supporters, where you promise to be considerate what you write on social media before being handed your ticket, i kid you not hahaha
Yeah - but it was Ackworth - wouldn't hurt a fly, ( even if he spends most of his days trying to catch them ! )
You must be familiar with Ackworth's 'style' of posts. He usually confines himself to a 'one line' graphic insult - it's no wonder that Charlton got disenchanted ! --- there was also a photo, attached to the story, of a group of protesters. Ackworth was right at the front of them. ..............maybe if Charlton's results continue as they are, he'll beg them to take back the season ticket book.
You have to give it to Ackworth he knows how to get his opinion heard, especially if he is attracting the attention of the directors. Goes to show that supporters still do have power if they are prepared to stand up and be counted and Jonno has never been shy on that front.
What are the answers ? I very often bring guests, of various ages, ranging from teenagers, 20-65 and Over 65+ to our home games. I always pay for them ( even if under a voucher scheme - where possible ). I'm no Scrooge !!, even if I like value for money. I note that the Checkatrade game v Luton is £5 for adults and over 60. ( they'll still have to drag people in kicking and screaming ). The price is extremely attractive for an evenings 'entertainment.' I have no problem with it - it's the change of policy that I query. From my recent experiences it seems that the Club makes it up as they go along ! If the upper age bracket for all other home games starts at Over 65, (a) Why has the Club set the starting point for the Luton game at Over 60 ? (b) And why no concession? It does impact on me - more so during the season - as one of my frequent guests is in the 60-65 age bracket . I pay full price for their ticket - when it would save me quite a bit if I could get them in for a 'Senior' ticket................. It's bad enough trying to establish what is a Category B game, let alone remembering the age groups for each type of game. ................. I bet the Club would be happy for me to use the 'free ticket' voucher in my season ticket book for the Luton game.
Don't be unreasonable Always. All you had to do was wait for last night's programme and the Chairman explains all you need to know. He assures you that there will be plenty of notice so that you can take full advantage of this offer and I have it on good authority that all category B matches will be listed in the programme for the Fleetwood match at Priestfield. But you will need to buy the programme on the day.
bristol407 Thanks - I appreciate your wind-up. ( I didn't think you meant the Fleetwood away match on 29th October )...... and for those who aren't quite sure of bristol's wind up - the Fleetwood home ( possibly Category B game ), is the last home league game of the season. ....................... and you expect the Category B list to be out by then ? It would be ridiculous enough to expect the list to be out by the Fleetwood away game, - BUT - I was actually told that the list won't be out until October - and, quite frankly - that's pathetic.
