Another bad defeat at home last night granted but what worries more than anything is that Warnock has gone out and signed an almost entirely new back 4-5 and they are still complete cack!!! I could understand when we had Bromby and Kissa at the back with Robinson and the like but when Drury, Peltier and PEarce cam in I thought the school boy errors days of the past were gone!!! Obvously not. Then we have one really creative player in McCormack following the departure of Snoddy get crocked for 2 months and we are brining in loan players like Tonge who cant get anywhere near their reserve sides let alone the first teams of their parent clubs. Things are getting so bad I was starting to think we should move for Emile Heskey just to have a lump up front we can go to when under pressure - which we will be a lot if last night is anything to go by. FFS Bates get out and lets have a manager in January with about 20m to spend because that is what it will take to get this team out of this division. Look at Cardiff - Maynard, Mutch, Bellemy, Noone, It is no coninsidence they have started like a house on fire.......
Actually the recent trend has been for us to start slow, then really pick up the pace in October/November and have the post-Christmas slump which jeopardizes the promotion chances. I don't even think we'll have the pre-Christmas boom this season though. Just constant sub-par tedium.
Don't disagree Never thought there was any chance our home form could rival last year but now I'm not sure
regardless of the lack of investment from bates. Warnock has still done a **** job and I still blame him for a hell of a lot. Another manager could've done better with what they were given, Warnock seemed more concerned with saving portsmouth from admin than building a good leeds united team/squad
How can you possibly blame Warnock? He was promised cash to build a promotion team, then told he had to offload players first, then told the cash would be coming, just get in the grafters, then Bates sells whoever is worth anything, and then finally, that there is in fact no cash for the quality players, by which time all the good loan options had gone. And all the while there's the promise of a takeover just to keep Warnock interested. It's just classic Bates being a complete **** right from the start. If Bates had said this at the beginning, Warnock wouldn't even have taken the job, never mind done things differently.
