I was at the Amex last night with some Seagull friends and thought I'd share some tips for anyone going to the game on the 15th.

Transport is a nightmare! If you are driving you will be stuck in massive queues for ages. Get there wel before the game (we arrived at 6:00pm for a 7:45pm game which was the only guarantee we'd make it according to Seagulls)

If you are catching the train from Brighton then you will face big queues at he station (although the burger van at Falmer station is good). Again get there early!

The buses are first come first served: if we hadn't been running we'd have missed the only bus back to where we were going.

The away fans were let out at the same time as the home fans, their route was straight through where lots of home fans were heading (definitely a problem since they were playing Palace last night).

The ground itself is really good and very noisy. The Brighton fans are pretty noisy (except when Palace scored and they took a while to respond). There are lots of fans brought up on Soccer AM who clearly had never bothered with the Withdean (which I've been to for the last 5 or 6 seasons). With the new fans come a fair few knuckleheads that I don't remember seeing much of at the Withdean.

The beers are good, it's best to go for the stand alone pumps of Harveys for quick hand-pulled service. The pies should be avoided!

I'm looking forward to being in the away end in a couple of weeks time.

As for the Brighton team last night, they didn't look at all as classy as I thought they would be. The Palace wingers gave them real problems (although Brighton did play a great short corner interchange for their first goal). The Palace players really got stuck in and in the second half were too good for Brighton. Does this mean we'll get stuffed?
