It's not often you see the skills of a player literally get people up off their seats gasping open mouthed.
Today was one of those days.
I've never seen my area of the ground L7 rise up in astonishment like they did to day when Perez brought a very difficult ball down sublimely, whilst under strong physical pressure and got a very good shot away.
    The kid is absolutely class.
He's far too good for us and will no doubt bag a big move in the next year or so but he really is a very, very special player.
I for one am going to enjoy watching him get better and better and hopefully produce more moments of class like today.. however brief his stay on Tyneside may end up being.
I was cynical when the press made out that Barca, Real and other big continental teams were scouting him last year.... now I understand why.

He certainly is class. Every now and then, our policy of buying cheap young potential pays off. He could be a star.

Problem is, the overall squad doesn't match that ability. As you say, no idea how long he'll be at NUFC so let's enjoy it while we can.

I see you didn't get a stonewall handball penalty today...Seems to be coming a bit of a habit in our part of the world..

Let's all get up off our seats and not come back until the FCB has gone!
Plus absolutely agree Perez is class and works his socks off.
Great example and l hope he continues doing his thing for NUFC, but he must be catching the eye of lots of others during our time of uncertainty and decline.

He is a quality young talent. He looks tired though, we are pushing him now. We need a centre back and striker ASAP. We could actually do with getting rid of Gouf and Sammy, buying one quality wide man.

Don't know how long we'll have him. I tell you what, if you put a target man alongside him, or Beardo type behind he'd be even better. its only us isolating him that makes him struggle to make a bigger impact.

him and cabella are light years ahead of the rest f the team in terms of skill & ability. it stood out a mile during yesterdays game as everyone else in the team is about 2 steps behind them....

hopefully we'll keep hold of him for some time to come but i would expect him to be off in the summer if he keeps his form up like many of you said he just needs another striker up there with him. personally id play riviere up top alongside him until cisse comes back or we sign another (wishful thinking), i hear shola has been released!

Love watching that kid play, think I've mentioned it before on here as well. He does have a sublime first touch and superb feet. I read somewhere that Ashley will be gutted he didn't invest in Bony as he's gone for £30m but I doubt he'll be that bothered, as this kid's gonna go for big bucks too eventually.

As good as he looks, he still wouldn't get a shot in that R.Madrid side so he's made the right choice, players like this mean it's important to get your 'head coach' appointment spot on, a false move could end up with his progress being stunted and that could cost Ashley a lot potentially.
