Defiantly thought we would hear sometime today who the new manager would be,
With the thin squad we need somebody sooner rather than later so it will give the new manager a fair crack of the whip in bringing in players and getting the team gelled in.
We need to hit the ground running so to speak at the start of the new season think its going to be another tough season in the championship with some good teams who are expected to be in the mix come end of the season.

Has anybody got an idea on when the manager will be appointed???

No sense in making yourself ill! :D

I agree though, hard to be patient but surely "this week" doesn't mean we have to wait til Friday does it?!

I recall all the people last season who kept saying "Get rid of Jones". when asked then they had no idea who they wanted to replace him,, assuming that anyone would be better than him.
Well now we are in that situation do you want the board just to appoint the first person who comes along? The shouting about DJ would imply that would be acceptable.
Let's give them the time they need to get the right man. Appoint in haste and regret at leisure. As I said before, most of the best players aren't even available yet and won't be until the Prem sides decide on their 25 man squads. Then the manager we have and the connections he has will mean a great deal in what loan players we get and what top players for sale might come down from the Prem for the right manager..
Lets be patient and get it right!!!

I'd rather have it "done right" than "done quick" <ok>

I can see you there Xnaggle, cross legged, lotus position, casting out your wisdom. . . and you're right of course.
Me, I'm going to build a brick wall with which I can bang me head with. It's all getting a bit much.

GLAM, my physique doesn't lend it self to leg crossing or lotus postions any more, in fact not many postions at all except bellying up to the bar. :(
Personally I'd love to see Sparky come and show everyone he meant it when he said he wanted to prove himself, then go on and actually do it. his connections with Chelsea Man U etc would be invaluable in my opinion and the fans would take to him. He hasn't been mentioned, not for any club at all but he must have had an idea what he wanted to do when he quit. His Prem options to 'prove himself' are running out like all our patience so lets hope they run out at the same time.
In the mean while I want a manager who can buld a team, not one like hughton woh took over a ready made outfit, i want a name I know and respect, so that lets out MM, I never heard him rated until last week, I want a young energetic manager, I want a manager with experience and connections, I want a big name, I want a manager who doesn't demand a fortune in wages, I want someone who can spot new raw talent and make it explode into the championship, I want a manager who can pursuade seasoned top class players to come and play for us.................... where did you say you were building that wall???

Half of me wants time taken for it to be done right, the other half is also getting impatient and wants it to happen now. Nathan Tyson going to Derby made me think that this morning (afternoon) when I woke up, granted he's not good enough for us but if it were a better player would we have missed out on the free transfer as we don't have a manager in place? Nonetheless I look forward to reading the 'breaking news' on Sky Sports News in work while I'm there the rest of this week

The decision will now be made next week according to ITV (almost as unreliable as the wales online) or late this week now. They keep delaying and it is getting annoying... :(
