http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/15150422.stm Don't know what the full story is but I'm not happy. I thought he was doing a brilliant job.
Seems like an odd move by the club.... just hope we have someone else lined up that conducts themselves in the same dilligent and respectable manner. Cheers Gethin for all your hard work, plenty of folk were sceptical on your arrival due to the egg chasing links but you changed many an opinion with your calm and composed manner. Now sit back and wait for the Sam hammam to be installed as CEO rumours to start!
Really hope that he just wants to get back to rugby and that it's not a case of 'jobs for the boys' and a Malaysian to take over.
A bit shocked really. Everything was running smoothly....or so it seemed!! I can't really see why he would go unless a big money offer came in for his services I guess. If it was solely the owners decision, I would be pretty annoyed as well. Seemed a good time to let things be for a while. I hope they don't start interfering all the time.
Siam - His comment would imply otherwise: "Ultimately football is about opinions and I accept that, however, I am confident the club is in a far better position than 18 months ago." To me this suggests that somebody else's opinion - surely TG or VT - differed from his, either about matters ongoing or his ability in the role...?
Things have been ok but the lack of cover over the last few games may be a reason the owners do not feel enough was done to prevent the situation. Would we have lost to Hull if players had been brought in when we had a chance. They see the same as we do, slowly but surely we find ourselves fielding what is available and anymore injuries or suspensions we wont even have a full squad.
^^^Sure but is that Gethin Jenkins fault? Ghost: Did you see this part? "adding that Chan and directors Alan Whiteley and Doug Lee will take on a more "hands-on role" in the meantime"
Sure...took that to be "all-is-well at the helm whilst we appoint a successor" speak...but who knows what has happened at boardroom level and this might have been building for a while...?
I am a tad concerned but until we know the full facts (if ever) then we have to put our trust in the Malaysians.
I agree Fish, just as you think things are going well.... **** happens.. wouldn't be Cardiff City otherwise.
Gethin was Guy's and Hall's man - well known to them and from a strict rugby code historically. Hope that doesn't indicate any dissent in the board. TG and VT flexing their muscles I wonder?
