Jimmy Greaves, my favourite player growing up, sad to hear he is not well. I sincerely hope he pulls through!

London rivals Tottenham Hotspur, Chelsea and West Ham United joined together on Monday to wish Jimmy Greaves well after the former striker suffered a severe stroke.

Greaves is in intensive care in hospital after suffering a severe stroke on Sunday, just 10 days before he was due to be inducted into the Tottenham Hall of Fame.

A statement on behalf of the 75-year-old’s family read: “Football legend Jimmy Greaves suffered a severe stroke on Sunday May 3 and is in intensive care in hospital.

“His wife, Irene, and four children have asked for privacy during what is a worrying time for the family. They will issue a bulletin on his condition when it is appropriate.

Same as me Masky. Some great memories of him winning games for Spurs - the run from half way to score against Forest, the scissor kick volley in his first game for Spurs against Blackpool and so many more.

And an absolute character to go with it.

Looks like this stroke is a bad one so hope he can be made as comfortable as possible.

Hope he pulls through and makes a complete recovery.

Don't have any characters like Jimmy in the modern game.

In fact we don't have any characters in the modern game.

    Best wishes Jimmy.
