Lawro's called it a draw. Everton v Liverpool (1245) The thing with these Merseyside derbies in recent years is that they are nearly always affected by yellow and red cards or, in short, the referee. This time around, I don't expect a classic. Everton took stick from some quarters last time out for their defensive approach against Manchester City, but they haven't got a centre forward at the moment and I don't see any problem with setting your stall out to stop a team like City playing. And anyway, for an hour or so it worked. The difference last week was that Manchester City were able to change the game from the bench - underlining exactly what they can do, but Everton can't. As for Liverpool, they picked up a win last week after two defeats but this is one of those derbies that is coming quite early in the season, at a time when both sides are settling into their rhythm and blooding new players into the team. prediction.1;1
