Lawro has gone for home win.
    Liverpool v Southampton

The spotlight will be on Virgil van Dijk, whom Southampton refused to sell to Liverpool in the summer. It will be very interesting to see how he gets on at Anfield.

But he will not be the only centre-half that people will be watching if Reds defender Joe Gomez plays in that position after doing extremely well there for England.

As far as the games goes, I am going for Liverpool to win it.

Even if Sadio Mane is not fit, and even if manager Jurgen Klopp is not well enough to be there, Liverpool should have too much for Saints.

    Lawro's prediction: 2-0

Paul Merson has gone for home win too.
    Liverpool v Southampton - Saturday, 3pm
Southampton will just sit back and defend. Southampton beat them over two legs last year [in the League Cup semi-finals[ and done well in the second leg at Anfield when [Shane] Long scored.

But I am going to go for Liverpool, Southampton will sit back - if Liverpool score early, it could be more, but I think they find it very difficult to break teams down.

PAUL PREDICTS: 1-0 (Sky Bet odds 13/2)
