ON Saturday 1st of October, Liverpool away to Swansea. Swansea played well against Manchester city last week and they are unlucky not to have got something from the game. This is a difficult game for Liverpool as they need to keep the momentum going. My prediction: Swansea 1:4 Liverpool Other fixtures and predictions: Friday 30th September 2016 Premier League Everton V Crystal Palace Saturday 1st October 2016 Premier League Swansea V Liverpool 1:4 Hull V Chelsea 2:2 Sunderland V West Brom 2:1 Watford V Bournemouth 2:2 West Ham V Middlesbrough 2:2 Sunday 2nd October 2016 Premier League Man Utd V Stoke 3:1 Leicester V Southampton 2:0 Tottenham V Man City 2:2 Burnley V Arsenal 0:2
Paul Merson is given Liverpool first clean sheet of the season. Swansea v Liverpool - Saturday from 11.30am, live on Sky Sports 1 HD I can't see anything other than an away win. Liverpool are playing very well and are dominant at the moment. Take away the Burnley result and they have been outstanding. please log in to view this image please log in to view this image Swansea vs Liverpool October 1, 2016, 11:30am Live on please log in to view this image Get Sky Sports Get a Sky Sports pass It's hard for Swansea, for a lot of teams if they come 17th it's been a good season, that's how tight it is down there. But I am a great believer that you stick with your manager you had at the start of the season. PAUL PREDICTS: 0-3
Lawro also say away win. Swansea v Liverpool (12:30 BST) There continues to be speculation over Francesco Guidolin's future as Swans boss, with chairman Huw Jenkins meeting former United States coach Bob Bradley. The Welsh club have had new American owners since Guidolin was given a new contract in May and, if they are not happy with the Italian and are looking to make a change then they should just do the decent thing and tell him. Liverpool do not have a great record at the Liberty Stadium - they have only won once in five previous visits - but I think that will change on Saturday Are Liverpool genuine title contenders? Forget about the fact Liverpool could have scored 10 against Hull last week, it was their pressing that really impressed me. They were like a swarm of bees. It takes quite a lot for me to go 'whoah' but that was probably the biggest single factor in them winning that game the way they did. If Liverpool can play like that - and they might not be able to - against the top teams then it is going to be so difficult to beat them. That remains to be seen but I do think they will have too much for Swansea, who put in an improved display against Manchester City last week, but still lost. Lawro's prediction: 0-2 Elis' prediction: It feels very disloyal not to back my own team but Liverpool have been brilliant so far this season. I think we will give them a game though. 1-2
PAUL MERSON HAVE IDEA. Liverpool v West Brom, Saturday 5.30pm I was a bit disappointed in Liverpool against United. People criticised United, who did sit back, but I thought Liverpool were going to come out of the blocks and play like they have been at home recently. please log in to view this image Liverpool 0-0 Man Utd They created two chances in the whole match, and I didn't think it was good enough. They didn't have many ideas, and struggled against a team who, granted, defended well. It was disappointing, and I expected them to win the game. West Brom are going to be hard to beat, they're doing well, but I think Liverpool will win this. Adam Lallana has to play, they should take a chance and play him. They missed him against United, they didn't look like they were going to open much up without him in the team. The Baggies will sit back and they need to break them open. PAUL PREDICTS: 3-1 http://www.skysports.com/football/n...an-utd-and-man-city-to-return-to-winning-ways
LAWRO'S IDEA Liverpool v West Brom (17:30 BST) The key for Liverpool will be dealing with West Brom's set-pieces. I was at Anfield for this fixture last season, a 2-2 draw that saw the Baggies bully them and punish them at corners and free-kicks. The Reds also have to be careful that they don't over-elaborate in attack when Roberto Firmino and Philippe Coutinho are on the ball. Both Brazilians are outstanding players but it is frustrating when they try a lot of clever flicks when they should just look to hold the ball up and bring other players into the game. I do still think Jurgen Klopp's side will create the most chances, however. If they can take them, they will win. Lawro's prediction: 3-0 Joe's prediction: I am going to have to go for Liverpool here - I will be in trouble with one of my friends if I don't. 2-0
