It has not been a great start for Liverpool this season, facing West Brom at Anfield on Saturday is not going to be easy. Our players have something to prove. Having conceded a late equaliser against Everton last Saturday we need a turn around. Scoring goals is now a problem to us.
Prediction:Liverpool 3:0 West Brom

Sat 4 Oct 2014 - Premier League
Hull v Crystal Palace 2:1
Leicester v Burnley 2:1
Liverpool v West Brom 3:0
Sunderland v Stoke 2:2
Swansea v Newcastle 2:2
Aston Villa v Man City 1:2
Sun 5 Oct 2014 - Premier League
Man Utd v Everton 2:2
Chelsea v Arsenal 2:0
Tottenham v Southampton 2:2
West Ham v QPR 2:1

Lawro has gone for home.

Liverpool v West Brom
Everyone now seems to be an expert on Liverpool's problems, and there seems to be a lot of them.

“For me, the reason for the Reds' poor form is simple - Daniel Sturridge has been injured and Luis Suarez has left”

I'm hearing things like how Simon Mignolet is not playing well in goal, Dejan Lovren does not look great at centre-back, that the two Spanish full-backs are still settling in, and how Steven Gerrard seems to be playing a bit deep and his legs have apparently gone.

For me though, the reason for the Reds' poor form is more simple - Daniel Sturridge has been injured and Luis Suarez has left.

Between them, Sturridge and Suarez scored 52 of Liverpool's 101 Premier League goals last season. Take two players of that calibre out of the front end of your team and any side would struggle.

Yes, they have signed another striker in Mario Balotelli, but he is a completely different type of player to both Sturridge and Suarez and, without either of them, they cannot stretch teams.

At the moment Raheem Sterling is the only Liverpool player capable of doing that and he is not a prolific goalscorer, yet there seems to be a massive onus on him to start winning games for them.

Liverpool will be fine once they get Sturridge back, and there is a possibility that he could play a part this weekend despite not making the England squad because of his thigh injury.
